The country is above self.

We must urge the heads of all political parties who are in powers not to play gimmick with development of our motherland. We fail to understand as why just few days earlier, land allotted to Indian Railways for Coach Project at Rai Barely was withdrawn by UP.Govt. just on a tutored report of collector,Rai Barely when the UPA Chairperson & Union Railway Minister were supposed to arrive for Bhoom-Poojan of the said project there when the Railway had taken possession of the said land after making payments. In view of withdrawal & imposition of 144 Cr.P.C, they had no other option to cancel their proposed visit there. Later on, a writ was filed by a social activist in Allahabad High Court to get the land restored to Railway back as it was illegally withdrawn. The said case is still under sub-judice. How surprisingly, the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh all of a sudden announced now the cabinet decision taken on her behest that the said land has been re-allotted to Indian Railway for establishing coach factory at Rai Barely which was earlier withdrawn! Is it not a political gimmick of BSP Chairperson who happens to be C.M.of U.P to show off her supremacy & causing enormous loss of public exchequer? Let the political whim be well understood by her electorates! We are sure that they will give her befitting reply in next poll for such flickering action! We must make it very cleat to all that the country is above self & one's party & whim and none should play such gimmick in future.

Mayawati is Primitive, Backward
by san man on Oct 18, 2008 10:04 PM

Types like Mayawati like to brag of their backwardness and wear it as a badge of pride and victimhood. What garbage. Personalities like her will never understand the imperatives of development.

Maya's U-turn
by jagannatha rao on Oct 18, 2008 09:53 PM

I think that Ratan Tata's message to W.Bengal youth has a positive effect on Mayavati. She did not want to be equated with Mamatavati.

Why this rush for factory now?
by UP Guy on Oct 18, 2008 09:38 PM

Mayawati made one important point about this whole issue. She said that Sonia and Congress came to power in 2004, how come they didn't think of establishing a coach factory then? How come they want to do it now just when elections are around the corner? Another important point is that this is fertile farm land. Why not have this factory in some place in the Bundelkhand region (places like Urai, Jhansi etc.) where the land is not fertile, and can be used for industrialization without affecting the food output. But in any case, it is better to have a factory like this than not to have it. Therefore, I am glad that Maya took the decision to return this land. And she correctly pointed out, if she didn't do it, she will get the blame later on.

Mamata is insane, Maya is not
by JB Mehra on Oct 18, 2008 09:34 PM  | Hide replies

This decision shows that Maya, unlike Mamata and her hooligans and some local congress leaders, is not a fool or a traitor, betraying the hopes and expectations of her people and a young generation of job seekers. Sanity prevailed in case of Maya. Mamata should be expelled from our civil society, maybe we can re-open the prison at Port-Blair, Andamans, and imprsion her and her whole bunch of rowdy companions there.

why are you refering to Ms. Sonia as Gandhi? it is incorrect and improper to keep refering to her as Gandhi with no prefix and all your articles refer to her not as Ms.Sonia.
hope your reporting gets corrected.

Ms. Sonia is the wife of Late Rajiv Gandhi and it is natural and nothing wrong to write or address her Mrs. Gandhi. Why people are taking objections to Sonia being adressed , Ms. gandhi' is very strange?

Read the article. It refers to Ms. Sonia as Gandhi without any prefix like Ms. or Mrs. Addressing someone by just the surname is rude. I think that is the point Priya is making.

Definetly Uttar Pradesh needs industrial development.
But why only RaeBarelli?
Why not any other city or village in Uttar Pradesh?

Blame your MP's and MLA's for doing nothing for your constituency. They are supposed to work for their constituencies.
