Short term vs long term
by Dheeraj Akula on Mar 14, 2008 03:09 PM

Loan waiver helps farmers in the short term only.

If they build agricultural infrastructure, that helps them in the long run. They can build canals, godowns, market places, roads from market places to towns and cities. They can set up fertilizer factories, run them successfully and distribute subsidized fertilizers on a continuous basis. They can do so many things if they really want to help farmers.

All they are interested is next elections and votes.

I hope the farmers will teach them a good lesson.

The devil can cite scriptures for his purpose.

Mr gandhi must understand that by giving so many incentives it will badly affect the economy. All ready the plummeting stockes have created havoc within the financial institutions further waiver of loans will sure kill them. Please think more over it.

horror of naming new airport
by raj on Mar 14, 2008 02:47 PM  | Hide replies

rajiv gandhi international airport.
we have the new airport named after late rajiv gandhi. what next ?

rajiv gandhi port
rajiv gandhi car parking lot
rajiv gandhi bus stand
rajiv gandhi rickshaw stand
rajiv gandhi cycle stand
...?

congress just wants to make sure one family has its imprints all over india. with impunity, and to much disgust of the majority.

abey, baat samjha kar, they could have named the aiport by the city's name, this is too much to include rajiv, why do we need the gandhi family name all over. we need to stop doing it. tommorrow, other political parties will start naming it after their leaders. sick and tired of lousy politicians. we need development without these stinky politicians naming everything after themselves. in one stroke they claim moral authority over the nation. it stinks.

Sorry, Nitin,I apolgise for this and the word'malbari'.No offence meant but please think rationally this gandhi family is the cause of most of the probems because they tried to hide issues under the carpet.Promptly I can recall the following:
1.Population(JRD cautioned Nehru about this he laughed it off by saying that big poulation is an asset).
2.Border issue with China(till today the position is not clear and India is under threat).
3.kashmir(why aricle 370).
I am not a BJP cadre.

by Roni gavaskar on Mar 14, 2008 02:45 PM  | Hide replies

But why should they get IT Payers moneys..? Why can't the poor do something for themselves like the way we did ourselves gracefully. ?

They best we can do to them is to teach them the ways live gracefully ? Ok just tell me what would u like to do -

1. Give money to a child begger Or
2. Give him something to eat & study ?

if all the poor start earning gracefully then u'll start begging. right now india is not in the position to make all its ppl to earn gracfully. dont think that, u by paying tax does not mean that u r giving alms to the poor are achieved something great. u r paying tax because u u are benefited in the economic growth of our country, and there are lot of ppl who are unfortunate who could'nt participate bcoz of social and govt. setup.

Whats in Hindi? whats with it?
by Nithin Kurien on Mar 14, 2008 02:43 PM  | Hide replies

Accpet Hindi is the national language..it was made so because majority of the people in North speak it.. and the leaders then , wanted a language to identify India. But to call all non-Hindi speakers as anti-Indian reflects so badly on you, people.

We are very much part of India and dont need your certificates. As it is, Hindi is just spoken in North and we have our own languages which i as rich and symbols of our identity and pride.

so keep-quiet..else, your self-inflated Hindi balloons will burst off..

Multiple laguages are our strength, and not debility, but the only Indian language that rightly deserves to be the national language, is undoubttedly, Hindi. There must not be any confusion about it.

and i started this discussion because pople were judging sonia and rahul on basis of how well they have Hindi accent.

Ridiculous
by Manish Kamdar on Mar 14, 2008 02:41 PM  | Hide replies

This is absolutely the most preposterous idea ever heard of. Firstly the loan waiver is coming from the pockets of honest tax payers and secondly Rahul let us know what are the taxes that you and your family pay? Do you think you are a ruler of this country? Gimme a break. Go back to your school and learn a thing or two. It is easy to make statements and waive off loans as it is not your money but for us salaried people this hurts OK? We have no relief from inflation, crowded trains, increasing real estate prices and yet you want to do this? Stop it for God's sake.
