Its really TRUE what all above is, the thing when the spending is more by young, things get more costlier, food price has gone up, realty, shopping, vegies, etc etc... in total everything is gone up.
The same it would be in the US too if the % of incerasin gis 20% here there it would be minimal of 5% It would reach saturation and will remain stayed for a long time.
For Eg you can look at the SENSEX, it has done with it. Now its time for realty and prices... it will stay down a time ahead in future !
Its my thinking... i am putting here.. might not be very practical.

there is no connection of food prices with software engineers. That is caused due to high inflation and a lot of taxes which pushes up the cost of a product or service.

iske jaisa choo nahi milegaa... mera matlab writer the first thing ...we indians have the best knowledge of language english...that is communication ... that is what of the most important. second thing .. he dont have proper knowledge of pay how and other expenses outside..i m sure... u know one litre milk in HK is inr200 per litre he/she does not know they have social security only there casual expenses equals to our payments and there is a vast difference right now also also it is not that the inr is strong it is that the us$ is weak so inflation is there in US also to a larger extent baaki tum log samaj lenaa

Dude.. 1. "best knowledge of English" is doubtful. 2. Just like there are some overheads in developed countries, there are some overheads in India also, like infrastructure, redtape, attrition, and a lot more u know of. 3. There are certain subtle advantages of doing business in their home countries, like customer satisfaction, political & employee union issues, .. 4. Why do u look only at developed countries. There are other developing countries as well. 5. Whether INR is strong or USD is weak, it makes a good case for keeping jobs in their own country.

I know one indian IT company whose annual hike during the tough period of 2004 was 4%...yes 4%, these guys are very smart at conning prospective employees...
............dear IT frnz dun get angry with the authors claim agianst ITians capabilty....BUT if u r really a true Indian you too vl think on the same line that we shd be more in to technological development for the overall growth than merely developing the codes for others........I am a lecturer at university level n i know what my students can do but i dun understand why we Indians only look for small term goals tah is easy money earning instead of going for a depth research n developing smthing which can help a farmer........story dusn end here..but i just want to say yaaron sirf 5% ITians hi agar jaag gaye or KUchh kar ke dikhane ke JAJbe ko kayam rakha. We can have our own developed softwares for the multi directional growth of India
I read an article in reddif today,'Why can't Indians build a great product in India?'. Iam proud of you and appreaciating your idea.only thing is we need inspiration from Govt. to establish these things in India. That is very good idea to stand on our legs without depending others. In my opinion the Govt should provide facilities and encouragement for these institutions to come up. So in future you don't need to worry about the death of outsourcing.

US knows about indian youngsters manpower won't make the country's growth low atleast 20 years. They can't survive. India's growth will never stop with the coming young generation, but our Govt has to putforward some diciplines in schools and colleges to produce good citizens of India otherwise they will spoill our country.also I read some shootings in Indian schools, all the crimes are committed by the kids from high-class families. In these cases please don't cosider high-class or low-class put forward the punishment to death penality for the kid who did the murder then there will be no shooting occur continuosly. This is our Govts jobs.Make some rules for the young generations. Also don't separate the poor from the rich, put more restrictions to the high-class kids automatically the crimes will reduce.
As per the Article for Indian 15% year-to-year salary hike rate till 2015. And US wages remain constant till 2015. What a Foolish Article. Sramana Mitra is comparing US with Afghanistan.
The other factor is the fact that today only 10-15% of our graduates are employable, if companies choose to hire "unemployable" at half the salary, and train them for a year and then get work out of them, that would double the workforce and halve the cost. So another lever to play with. :-). Wipro and Infosys have moved away from Engineers only and are now taking B Sc students. They have also tied up with Univs /colleges to tailor the courses and increase the employability of students and cut the training time.
Why would US salary remain constant, at a base of US$30000, a 5% increase in the US works out to US$900, for a person in India working @ Rs 200000 a 15% hike is Rs 30,000 or US$ 750 ! In dollar terms the gap increases ! And attrition helps, a fresher is hired at a lower salary then a tenured hand who has increments taking his salary costs up. the other aspect the author forgets to consider, that the 15% increase is not a given, if the market gets tougher then the increments reduce or even go away. Companies will get leaner, the spans would be increased and productivity would be measured better ! so there are many levers yet to play, and for a 2500 company looking at the cost for 150 employees may not be much, but you can rest assured if say an IBM acquires a Wipro, there would not bee wholsale layoffs for Wipro.
The author's views depicts the reality. We, the Indians, forget the importance of adventing a technology, rather than doing a back-up work for American counterparts.
As for as an average Indian, getting a job is enough. If the job is in MNC, with onsite opportunity, then he is a lucky man.
Obviously,this mentality should be changed.
Still now, we prove that 'Lord Meckalay's' prediction about Indian Mentality is TRUE.
The IT industry is really shining it will survive do not worry guys and enjoy your week end parties as usual: 1) Visit to any good housing project about 80% flats are booked by professionals working in IT industry. Builders always prefer IT professionals. IT people never ask any builder that why the rates are equal to US cities in India because for IT whether it is India or USA both are same. This courage we IT people having. 2) You visit to any shopping mall only IT guys never ask how much is the amount simply give credit card and make payment.
The people those who are unable to live like IT professional are jealous about our lifestyle hence they are making this type of nonsense comments just enjoy.

What's your logic? 1. Builders always prefer IT pros. 2. IT pros pay recklessly at malls. Based on 1 & 2, you concluded that: IT industry will survive.
By any chance, do you think that Apartment Builders & Malls are paying IT pros. What matters is what the customers of IT/ITES services think about IT pros of India.
