Four wheels with a chinese engine and they call it a CAR. A traffic nightmare for kooolkatta. City roads without foot-paths already being captured by RED UNION. Road full of potholes and want to drived a battery operated chinese toy on it.

As a bengali first and Indian next, I agree with Bijoya and Arindam. We will see non Bengalis get out of Calcutta - just as the Waffen SS used to tell 'juden raus' to the jews of Warsaw and Berlin. Mind your language and if you do not like Calcutta, get out and stay out. Applies to all marwaris, gujjus, punjabis, biharis etc.

Non bengalis don't love this slum city. And if we have to leave calcutta u guys will run for cover in other parts of India.

It seems u r from Calcutta. If so, then why r u staying there. Go to US or Eurpoe and enjoy smooth and wide roads. If u have money, then u shouldn't bother to buy a TARA car I believe. So, why r u concerned on whether it would be a TOY or not? Try to encourage someone who is doing good for the environment rather than criticising the same.

Why r Bengalis so touchy about Kolkata.all the big citis have bad roads and red flag in WB is a reality

Bengalies are touchy about Kolkata the same way as Marathis are touchy abt Maharashtra and Gujjus are touchy abt Gujrat and Punjabis are touchy abt Punjab....And as u are touchy about Pakistan!!!

unfortunately i wasted few years of my life in that state. Will suggest u to get out of that hell or send the b*strd chinse agents to their homeland.

Where r u staying now? R u happy and satisfied? If so, then don't waste ur time of what's going on in WB. It is a state with its unique character and very much different from other states. Nowhere in India except Calcutta, you will get the touch of love, culture, intellect and affaection. I am in Bangalore and can well understand the difference. Calcutta still has the potential to be the best city in India.
Most of the developed nations are switching to alternate fuels like battery powered cars, Natural Gas etc instead of depending on petrol and diesal. Govt is also encouraging it.
Tara Tiny should be encouraged whereever there is no shortage of electricity. Battery powered vehicles are environmental friendly.
Reva couldn't reduce the price because of the battery.
West Bengal,in alliance with China is doing everything to damage India's economy!
India need to get rid of Communist states such as WB,Kerela etc. so that Indian economy can survive.
Indian Govt. is simply letting them do anything they want in India.
First, they targetted the source of unlimited Electricity Supply for growing Indian Industries(by stopping the Civil Nuke Contract with US) and now, targetting Automobile industry.
India should not let them win in our own land!
Send WB Govt to China and see if China lets India to start-up a business there!
China Govt. is powerful and will never listen to any political nonsenses that could damage Country's ecomomy.China is clever,we must confess.

Peace maker....that is exactly our intention....to cripple Indian Industry. And yes, we gave you freedom as Shiuli says - she is absolutely correct. It is time we bengalis gave back left right and centre.
RE:Tara Tiny not for me
by rexberry on Feb 22, 2008 10:16 AM
this car is not for india.... coz most of the cities suffer loadshedding...now candlelight dinners is no more a romantic idea... coz our government had made it mandatory thanks to loadshedding
This should be encouraged by the govt & public as well keeping in mind the environmentalpoint of view. In fact an ele car REVA is already on roads in B'lore. But it's cost is on higher side & is of 2 seater only. They can also think of improving upon.
RE:Electric cars
by Perfect stranger on Feb 22, 2008 10:16 AM
B'lore got huge reserve of coal to get you electricity to charge reva, but burning coal has an equivalent or worse effect on environment. People dont get electricity to light their house and you want to use it for pet-dog miniature car!great environmentalist !!

If managed properly the Power problem can be addressed to. Lot of Sugar units are producing power in their Co-Gen units & selling to state board. To be managd properly.
I know a bout NCR .. every home and company runs on inverter or generator 80% of the time. Tora Tora .. u too might have to search for an alternate fuel!!!!!
