i have taken tatasky connection, and within a week that adaptor got damaged, and iam tired of calling up call centres and service centres to get new one. There is no stock available till now and its a big headache of taking tatasky connection.
What we see in channel these days? which star is after whom or which cricket is saying what? all serials which make women abnormal etc. Not even some good songs they show. In such a scenario no one other than teens who are really immatured watch TVs. or old to spend time. Unless programs offer wholesome entertainment and educative value, no one will bother who enters
There is no point wasting time over soap operas and countless worthless programs. They only result in turning creative people into couch potatoes and spoiling our children.
whether its TATA or Dish TV one thing is sure the quality of these two are similar. Both hang out when rain starts coming during monsoon living the dth service to hang. On calling their customer care they ask to reset the unit instead of telling the right thing that when rain comes there will be problem in receiving signals from satellite & so you will face problems. Similarly in more cloudy weather also the DTH service of both this stops or we get messages like "scrambled channel" or "poor signal". The newer companies should outcome this problem if at all they want to succeed in this business battle. I rate the service/quality of both TATA SKY & Dish TV at par with our local cable operator. The coming of Ritik & shahrukh in their ads had definately affected their sales come up but their service quality lackness would also have resulted in customer loss. I hope these companies would also declare how many customers leave them due to their service problems.
There was a news sometime back that reliance is looking out for a LCD TV supplier for 1 million units of LCD units which he would offer free of cost to each subscriber in exchange of 1 year's advance rental.
I dont know how true is that but when it comes to reliance nothing seems impossible for them.

dear friends remember this: no good thing in this world comes free. For reliance they may give discounts or installments but nothing comes free as reliance is also to do business and earn money from this huge market.

As far as i remember, it was not a free LCD, but they were planning to give a package of SetupBox and LCD (i guess TOSHIBA) at very reasonable rate.

FAKE NEWS just for gaining media attention and its just a marketing strategy. their H/w is still not ready and therefore they are delaying their launch every day.
....At Rs 200 - 300 per month, Cable TV operator is still best bet with 100 channels to choose from. Also they can cover your day to day local events and news like no one else can. They also generate employment among locals who are unskilled and uneducated and may not find work anywhere else. Supporting cable tv connection means providing revenue flow and employment to local workers, equipment manufacturers, cable equipment sellers, transporters etc. It means a lot of people find employment. Buying a DTH service emans limited channels, no choice of bouquet for personal tastes, higher maintenance costs and all your money going into off shore bank accounts of Singapore and Europe to shore up finances of Global companies outide India at the expense of local economy.
I work in an IT company and also in Advertising circles right now. When in college I worked for a Cable TV operator and I can tell you first hand how much impact on local economy will be by going in for foreign DTH services with your money benefiting foreign companies.

Dude you have to update with Technology always. More over why do you want to promote unskilled and uneducated labours. Why dont you ask them to get skilled trainings and learnings?
It is really good to have this DTH services as it works even in case of power failures in the cable TV operator location and reduces the fight among cable TV operators in particular locality. And most places Cable TV operators cheat govt. tax by not showing exact number of connections they provide. When you look in to the above issues DTH service is good as it provides clear and quality Picture and Sound. It will not go off(means no banning of particualr language channels) if any problem is occuring in particular state(eg. the current problem prevailing in TN and Karnataka).

both cable & dth have their pros & cons. as we were in cable connection dependent on local cable wala here in dth we are on the dth provider as they cant stop rain or cloudy weather during monsoon season. The overall performance doesn't add anything special for Indian customer even though dth is costly then cable.
If any one tryes to opt the cableoperator that is nice. But prefering DDDTH has one edge that -it is totally free. -it telicasts about 2o Tv chanel -and actually we used to wach 10-12 chanel regularly. if any one has any objection plese suggest.
I really hope, when Reliance/Bharti comes in, it doesn't only emphasis on low cost, but the problems that customer's of existing DTH service's are facing, like pathetic customer care, high monthly cost, low warranty, non-flexible progm package's and many other trivial issue's.
Every customer not only want it to be light on pocket, but light on the mind itself.
