Lets think what kind of stories are most imp. for children..
by manoj kumar on Oct 14, 2007 09:16 PM

India's main story should revolve around Buddha, Dhruva, Nachiketa, and rishi - muni.
Because they were super scinetists. They discover the path of self discovery. To look within, observe and be self aware. This awareness is greatest thing to learn in this world. Nothing come even close. If children want to be successful in any area of life, does not matter what. they have to learn this art of self awarenss. And it come with very hard & years of practice. Its not easy.
So if our stories golrify them and some how ignite the children's interest, wow, this is gonna such a big differenc in their life.

Chandamama..The greatest story teller ever.
by on Oct 13, 2007 01:14 AM

I loved chandamama("JANHAMAMU" in ORIYA)during my child hood.I used to save my pocket money & buy "Janhamamu",me n my younger brother used to complete the whole story book..at one go..:)
Now M in my early 20s...though have left touch with my all time fav. "Janhamamu")..but still can't forget the thrill of waiting eagerly for every month's issue..grabbing it before my brother could get it...[:)]
Our next generation needs such a great story teller which always had a social message with it.
That charisma of "janhamamu" would never get weathered!

classic collections

I was a big fan of chandamama during my school days. I still have the collection of chandamama copies from 1982 to 1990, books filled with all classics, which I will gift to my son when he reaches 2-3 standard. It is good news that the magazine is reviving, hope it will maintain old values with new technology.

I was a fan of Chandamama (Chandoba in Marathi). It is a great magazine for children with 'our' kind of content. soon my daughter will be of a readable age and Chandoba will be back in my home every month. It is the only magazine to be published in all major Indian languages! Nagi Reddy & Chakrapani have done a great service to our children!

Yes Yogesh, I was too a fan of Chandoba. Chandoba and Anand were available in those days and we used to wait eagerly for the next months issues every month! I am 58 now but still vividly remember Chandoba. It is really incomparable to the subsequent cartoon craps.

chandamama

Chandamama is simply great. i have so many fond memories of that magazine. stories of vikramaditya and those one page stories that invisibly taught us children good morals. and that epic serial 'thoka chukka'. as kids we used to imitate the characters of thokachukka serial. i hope the magazine comes up with this serial once again. hats off to nagireddy garu.
