It sis a pity you have failed to include MYSORE as one of the hot destinations OR should I say it is a blessing in disguise under teh current Indian scenario?

Thank you for not identifying and saving another decent city from becoming another Mega-SLUM

Chennai/Kolkatta, take solace in the fact that even Delhi is missed out though Gurgaon/Noida is mentioned.

Dear Readers!
I don't understand why people are getting all worked up when they don't see Chennai on the list. These are recomendations of one analyst and they should be take as recomendations...if you think Chennai is good then go for it. Why make all the fuss...just because you like Chennai...doesn't mean everyone else has to like it...there are few other cities in India that are left out (Ahemdabad, Vishakhapatnam, etc.). That doesn't mean they are not good places to buy property. Do your own research and don't cry foul when you don't see the city of your liking on a list recomended by someone. These are his/her views and take it or leave it.

Yes! Sudhir what you have told was there 4 years back. Now Chennai has to very good drinking water and usable water in corporation pipes. Even I too faced these conditions. But now the living conditions have changed a lot. I moved out of Hybad to Chennai, not just because of job, also a good living condition prevails there.

Author of this article must apologies for doing so. Chennai is the fastest growing city of south Asia.

Pune is not that much developed city...Bangalore has climate nothing more than that..positively with pollution.

This article is with respect to investment in cities not to classify which city is doing best in what sector.
In that case a no one likes to invest in chennai except a tamilian for the reasons everyone knows

Chennai and hot city !! Are you joking?
Only people in Tamil Nadu would prefer chennai to settle, haven't seen any outsider wanting to settle in chennai. Its definitely not a cosmopolitan city like Mumbai, Delhi or Banglore.

I do not want to hurt the sentiment of Chennai people .. I lived in all most all the metros but my experience in Chennai is hurrible...

Unless u r tammilian don't dare to invest in Chennai... I cann't forget those days when I used to bath with Bislery watter ( Normally people used to buy for drinking) ... One of the most horrible place in the world to live in... If someone lived in Chennai he can live anywhere in the world... If u think I lie pls go n stay there for a week ...

MORON! everywhere people sweat whether you are in chennai or anywhere else in hot weather whether humid or not! it is just a figure of speech people use to indicate it is hot and humid. The same is applicable to any city on the coastline. I get sweat in DC area in US in summer.

btw, tamilians dont feel chennai is the best city to live we certainly like our city and proud about it.

I myself invested in a few real-estate and made decent profits (around 200+%) in a short span of time and me I am not even a good investor.

The point of contention here is a thriving metro with 8 million population with a high real-estate growth is definitely a must mention.

Otherwise the report is incomplete, unprofessional and SUSPECT!. How can money control leave a city like chennai when it mentions madurai and others as well.

If they didn't have the data, they should have atleast put so like that.

Regarding the mushroom of constructions it is a case everywhere in india as a result of corruption, not just chennai.

As to why you have to use mineral water for taking bath beats either you are lying or super rich!. FYI MMWSB supplies water to chennaiites if you must know. :)

Chennai is a wasteland
by Shekhar on Jan 02, 2007 10:16 PM

Mindless construction and hopeless infrastucture has made Chennai an unliveable city. Even the court made this statement a few weeks back. Only those living in that city may be asking why its not listed here, but others know exactly why !

You missed visakhapatnam (vizag) in AP as a tier II city. It was rated as one of the fastest growing in Asia itself . It is considered city of destiny with beauty and tourist spots, as good as Goa on east coast with lot of IT companies moving from tier-I cities like hyderbad, in fact it is a dream for every andhra to own home in this beautiful city.
