Way to go .... I see Uttar Pradesh is going to be NY soon :-)

All the more reason not to go to UP to open a business venture - anyone in their right mind would do no such thing. Unless you want to open a unit to convert your black money to white by showing losses, no one will take this up. Anything that comes for free in the garb of reservation - a college seat or job will never be cared for. Every human has to earn his living. Of course the playing field has to be level. But Mayawati working towards leveling the play field - nah! What will she have to divide the people and win the next election.

God bless this great country. God give its people the wisdom to make the right decisions.

Catwoman in town. Political Big Bs watch this lady....!
by Niranjan Limaye on Aug 10, 2007 10:42 PM

Very intelligent move to attract vote bank as well India Inc. Very balanced & mature political move. Now she can promote this model to next level - & that's a risk for India Inc.

Keeping the decision voluntery will still continute investment in the state. At the same time she can advertise her "vachanpurti" to her vote banks.

One of the caviat is candidates should be properly tested for the position. If not found, then with proper evidences, industry should be allowed to hire talented "local" candidate. At the same time state should not keep tax structure so complex, that will enforce Inc. to go for subsidies and indeed accept the reservation.

This decision is like a sword with blade at both sides.

Smart girl..!

End of development for UP
by Techcool on Aug 10, 2007 10:39 PM

This is the end of development in UP. I dont think any private company would ever want to open a Unit in UP with *QUOTA* rather going to any other states where human value prevails. There are such bunch of jokers in Indian politics making hell of its development, otherwise we could have surpassed CHina in every aspect. These politicians only know how to choke the poor and illiterate to get their vote then start the *FUSS* in the name of development.
