Shrimad Bhagwat Geeta ''Solution to all Problems''
by Gitesh on Nov 14, 2006 09:57 AM  | Hide replies

There are no prerequisite to study and learn Geeta excpt understanding of Sanskrit., no age bar, Geeta is Bible of Humanity, it says the other is not other but he is my divine brother., it shows what should be the content of living a happy life.

We are all taught today the education which is career oriented or bread oreinted where the end results is just a job or business to earn our bread and butter, a doctor can be a successful surgeon , but same doctor when goes home from his office,he fails to act as a good father, good son and a good husband......IF someone has read Geeta, it definately requires time, but its not that we can read the whole in a day, it can be read everyday and no doubt its a best book in this world and only book which is not written by someone its sung by the Almighty Lord Krishna thats why its name is "GEETA" Gaya Huaand, Arjun acted as our representative onour behalf to learn and understand the Geeta due to which we have got it today...Its the only Book in the universe of which we celebrate its BirthDay "Geeta Jayanti" which is in December.... doing a comment without reading is not justified.Geeta the commitment is given by God and not any politician or t

Religious Books manuals for society as there are mannuals for Corporate or State Governance. It deals directly with ethical values of Human being.Be it Bible,Qurran or Gita. They give same message, but unfortunately the inrepreting Agents have used these sacred books so badly that instead of doing service to the Society, they are doing the greatest disservice to the Society for their lack of understanding or ignorance or greed for power, position.
The basic substance of all these books is Human Resource.God has given equally to all Human beings. It is left to the Individual how he or she uses the resources given by the God.This equally applies to the Society or the country at large.
Abundance,Recognition, contentment, desire to give out - are positive mindset which brings peace, relaxation, tranquility and strength to the Individual and in turn to the society and the Nation.
Scarcity, neglect, unfulfilled desires, desire to clinch from others on the other hand are negative aspects of the individual, which gives rise to unrest, apathy, terrorism and weakness to the Society,Nation.Human being has both qualities good and evil within himself.

US firms awestruck by the Gita
by subramanian on Nov 13, 2006 09:20 AM

The fascination with the Gita of the American corporates is a purely passing phase and will not lead to any lasting good. The gurus who teach the top honchos suffer from the same diseases that the disciples are trying to get rid of, which is an obsessive desire to succeed in earning name, power, wealth etc. The Gita is a sublime literature that is meant to take one beyond the realms of sensual experience of the material variety as it is ephemeral and also misery causing. Gita will take a true seeker to a dimension which is immune to the defects of material pleasures. I pity the Gurus and the disciples. Of course the true seeker, wil eventually find a true guru after rejecting these false gurus

our Gita
by R.Vijayann on Nov 13, 2006 08:14 AM  | Hide replies

Its really sad that the West has to approve of the Value of our Gita . Its about time people realised Hinduism is the perfect art of living in any yuga . Its the higest form of science mankind can follow through the generations of time to enrich your understanding of your inner self and the external world. Why cant the teachings be implemented in India? The biggest hurdle you will face or India faces today will be to separate religion from politics.
Today if you talk of the GITA helping you in your work and being at peace, dont be alarmed if our Pseudo secularists calls you a fundamentalist.

"Wait for the USA to approve it" eh!

Indians keep crappy culture intact?
by Lokesh on Nov 13, 2006 05:27 AM  | Hide replies

Who cares about crappy culture? What's so good about it??? Dowry in the 21st century??? or female infanticide??? or casteism?? endemic levels of poverty in a called superpower nation. Please tell me all the glorious parts about our culture and I will follow that.

Our culture stinks and we have pulled the wool over our eyes by diverting the subject and calling criticism unpatriotic. Look at what your culture has given you, Babus you vote to power so that they rob you and your family under your very noses and give you crap back in return, and all you can talk about is your glorious culture???

I thank god I have moved abroad and shrugged off all the evils of my culture but still retain the good parts of my Indian identity, like pursuit of knowledge and hard work.

The sad reality is people in the Western world provide aid to India even today, we get ads regularly on TV to sponsor a child in India and not even one Indian in a nation of 1 billion has stood up to make a difference. Compare Bill Gates to the 5th wealthiest man Laxmi Mittal. Bill Gates being a foreigner is one of the biggest donor to India, while our so called very own NRI hasn't provided a CENT.

Mahabharatha

I think if you want to follow an example from Mahabharatha , follow the example of Karna , and not Bhagavath gita ... Bhagavath Gita in effect is Krishna's words to Arjuna to fight and kill his relatives, friends and teachers !!

Pathetic Article
by Vinay on Nov 12, 2006 11:57 PM

Western countries, especially the US, have achieved so much in all fields and the rest of the world has to learn and is learning from them. And there is no need for them to look somewhere else for anything. It is ridicules if somebody write some article like this saying that the US corporate is charmed by Bhagavad-Gita. If you look at the names mentioned as US citizens in the article, all are Hindu Desis [Indians] settled in the US. They are not the original Americans. As they are Hindus, there is no surprise that they refer Gita. I think this article is written by some Hindu fundamentalist, who always give rosy picture about India and chanting slogans like India is the only country never invaded other countries when the fact is that there was no country called India before British come to India.

what a laugh
by tc on Nov 12, 2006 01:49 AM

Only Indians and ghettoed NRIs would believe this line. I have seen a lot of crap being printed, this isnt the worst but is pretty close. It just shows how gullible people are. Just see the corporate world out of India "we are a great Nation India" looks like. We are treated mostly like 3rd class corporate citizens who are employed so that a company 'saves' money!. Maybe they dont tell that on the face but they certainly behave the way. The call centre india will never believe this as the foreigners they meet are friendly when they come to "exotic" India. See what they are at their homes. We are no better to them than scum and thats the only truth.
The second part to this being the religious BS. If religion and that meant any religion had any answers to anything in this world we would be better off, all the islamists, christanists or rss chadi dharis partaking.
THanks in advance to rediff cause i know they will not print this as this is "unpatriotic" or some jazz like that!

Disgusting!
by Devanshu Gour on Nov 11, 2006 07:48 PM

It's disgusting and superficial. Vedanta and other Indian philosophical schools evolved as some of the most monumental responses to universal human issues and questions. Their range of inquiry is far broader and deeper than the pretentious intellectual preoccupations of any class of people intent primarily on maximising their profits. Let us not be misled - the purpose of business is always the maximisation of profits at the expense of the consumer. The superficial notions of corporate social responsibility and the dabbling in ancient Eastern philosophy is merely an effort to cloak this essentially exploitative motive in an aura of respectable philosophy.
