they don't need passports and visas when they came to our country
by Raghuchandan on Jul 30, 2006 03:57 PM

I completely agree with the author about the double standards of the west. We can tell everybody that Indians are most cultured people in the world. Most Indians don't kiss or hug their partner in the bus stops and on the streets, we don't leave our children and partner and stay with another woman for good. In this matter west is under developed. We have to improve living standards our living conditions in our own homes and in the streets, we have to create millions of jobs at home to avoid immigration we have to control our borders for our security then we can decide whether to give a visa or reject his visa of a person belongs to developed countries. We have to blame ourselves for most of the problems like population explotion, low jobs creation, corruption, lack of good governance, cleanliness and under development. The poeple in the west don't think or understand that when they invaded all under developed or developing countries they didn't need passports they didn't need visas they came to our countries they ruled they killed and they ran away with trillions of dollars and pounds. Political leaders don't think about common people as long as they get visiting visas.

Well...

The single reason why a bunch of sailors were able to establish their rule here for 300 years is the lack of unity among our forefathers. These people came here, created divisions, took advantage of the disorganized structure, traitors yielded in and the Empire was lost.
We are tring hard, but we still have to come out of it! Traitors (u know who among the present crop) still exist. The headquarters is weak and the leader has to hold crutches all along. He cant so much as muster 5 steps without help and his thinking is not in tune with the way things are progressing currently. Look at whats happening in the middle-east. One has to take a cue from the small country, which was once highly oppressed. Its all there to see.
One just needs those eyes. One needs the courage and overall feeling for country. The self is bound to excel once the country progresses.

What India needs today is young blood to take on the reigns. We are capable of doing everything. The infrastructure can be as good as these countries. We have a lot of money. But its all going into corrupt coffers and God knows where after that. There is an urgent need for accountability. How will all this occur? Any answers?

Dear friends,

This transit visa is just one of the other manifestations of the discrimininatory policies followed by the European countries to keep Asian people (mainly Indian) down. They have been trying to enforce these Draconian laws in every sphere of life, be it immigration, be it travel, be it education, be it opportunities, etc.
An Indian living in any European country will commiserate with me.

These people have looted us of our wealth due to our inept ancestors, and now are using this wealth against us to enforce their superiority. They are meddling in affairs of other countries, especially where there are conflicts and trying to mediate like big brothers. If you look closely at the history, these turbulences have been created by theirs truly themselves, so that these nations just remain involved in the quagmire of their own internal affairs. An example in case is my own dear country. However, we have been resourceful and daresay intelligent and have seen a lot of repatriation of our
money which is being used for the betterment of our brethren. However, this is not enough. There is a lot that needs to be done.

Dude it was your choice

You chose BA and to fly via London. So, why make a big issue of your ignorance and your travel agent's incompetence. That visa has been there for a few years now.

And, if you are talking about stupid rules and ways to milk money we seemed to do a better job than the Brits.

how to treat colored people
by sam swaminathan on Jul 29, 2006 09:20 PM

I travel several times a year between India, Europe, and the USA. I make sure I don\'t pass thru\' London, because it is racist in its visa policies. Our politicians and diplomats are the worst form of human society. I spent severl years in the middle east, watching thse diplomats visit Dubai, get treated like kings and quuens [an elderly female governoer once traveld with me to Chennai, and was receievd on the plane by customs officials to clear five or six of her bags!] It is time we them as Very Impertinent Pests, and stop this psychofancy. Few people would want to give up their priveleges, so the common man and woman should stop giving politicians and diplomats those priveleges.

Let us start a momevemnt to call these people GOVERNEMT SERVANTS, who are meant to serve the people, not be served by them all the time. At the same time, let us boycott travel via England, and indeed traevl to England, to the extent possible.

This is ridiculous!! This clearly indctes that Britishers still consider themselves as the rulers which they are not!!!If you go through the list of Nations who require Trans visa are all third world countries. The excuse to impose such visa rule is also baseless.(Any national... even a citizen from a country of European Community can also run away!! or enter illegally in UK if comes to...)
This is nothing else than insult of India!!!

It should be noted that the Britishmen do not get their own englishmen for performing semiskilled jobs and majority of Indians cater this need with utmost perfection(may be with less pay than the Britishmen)

This means Britain Wants SLAVE inputs and not a Human resource!!!

Ita about the money...
by Anubhav on Jul 29, 2006 03:32 PM

It is clear that the government has imposed the transit visa precisely because of the number of people travelling through UK. Its a grand money spinner for the Her Majesty's Treasury!! As far as the visa is concerned... a UK visitors visa will cost about £50 whereas the Indian high commission will charge £25 for an Indian visitors VISA!!!!! This is after the standard reciprocal pricing practice!!!! So dont expect anything from the MEA babus'... they are geenrally clueless!!!
