Seriously, what kind of proper invention has really come out of India. And since IITians are supposed to be cream, what have they really achieved or invented which brought a revolutionary change to peoples' lives? Don't tell me about all the people managing some top companies or creating a small website?
Helllllllllllllllloooooooooooooooooooooooooo, Is this some kind of a joke! Let me list a few great scientists/mathematicians and see who were from the \\\\\\\"IITs\\\\\\\": CV Raman, Chandrashekar, Ramanujan, Sathyendranath Bose, Vikrama Sarabhai etc...... the list is quite long. Now you might claim that IITs didnt exist during these times....Thats exactly what I am saying.....Indian science has gone to dogs ever since IITs were set up and have become big drains on the meagere resources that India can offer while conveniently giving nothing in return. IITians who subscribe to such megalomaniacal ideas should be told LOUD AND CLEAR that the so called NON IITians subsidize their education.....In return what we get is their flight to the west for their personal gains. Please Mr. Shailesh Gandhi let atleast one IITian come to even close to be invited to a Nobel banquet (I mean not getting the prize itself), for that matter let him/she even work in the cosy west! then and I stress ONLY THEN we can discuss such outrageous claims from you!!!!!!
I did not read this article because of its nauseating title. Someone in Rediff keep finding someone else to give interviews like this. Just Crap. Many Indians are coming back to India, not because they found love for country or God given mission to save India - but just because in US it is becoming more and more difficult to survive. I worked in IITB - 99% of the students are just normal like any other institutes- Just that they get better facilities. I worked in US too - IIT tag does not work there. They are not doing anything great there - they have to compete with students from other Engineering colleges of India - the difference vanishes there
Dear Mr. Shailesh Gandhi. To undertand what is the relavence of IIT's, Please look up the the word A N A C H R O N I S M. I am sure with your intellect it should not be difficult.
These IITians are so self centered and egoistic to understand that their contribution to the country is very little.
What kind of researches do these IITs do? I dont think anything useful for the common man have come out from the IITs so far. There is lots of money being spent on them with very little output.
They may have made some startups in silicon valley and now in Bangalore, but its nothing like gods goft to India!. It is non IITians who built companies like WIPRO, INFY and TCS. Our country would certainly been not much different without the IITs for sure.
This guy shailesh gandhi is full of crap, surpassed only by his daughter. I have worked under many IIT ians, but did nt find them any more efficient or hardworking than other engineers.They just had a lot of snob value
If you continue to write about IITians and their so called greatness you will have one genuine REDIFF Reader less. What is so great about IITians? They are just like any bright students from reputed Institutes other than IITs.It is unfortunate that too much importance is given to IITs and IITians. Because of the name the faculty gets majority of the projects from funding agencies like DST,CSIR,MNES etc., but the results hardly flows down the line to improve the lot of the poor.
PLEASE STOP WRITING ON IITs and IITians as we are fed up reading about it.
