Before the present govt. coming to power there was a hope that the govt. would stand by tge poor, middle class and honest citizens. But the govt. seems to be pro rich and nothing has changed. Corruption is now the rule of law. Be it in govt. , police, judiciary, and its a ratio what u earn hook or crook share it and enjoy or else spare it. Education is just a total failure in the school n college level and each state has their own standards and syllabus. Some states encourage degree by flook. Why shud civilised citizens who never dirty streets pay for those defaecate, spit, throw garbage etc. Some rascal hindus have their gods on old worshipped throwables like old flowers etc which are thrown into sea from bridges n trains. This creates serious environmental pollution. Some flowers r thrown above BEST bus stop roofs. This govt talks of unlimited power and there is always power cuts in navi mumbai. The standing committee that awards contracts to blacklisted contractors in BMC turnibg blind to their using low quality stuff is in public bkaming engineers.why not arrest the standing committee chairman who will spill the beans who took the money. Any how no one can rule india its a most complicated uncivilized country where criminals have their say.

Divya Nair, Please do consider seriously my suggestion, in brief. (a) We earn income for the SERVICES RENDERED to the society.Therefore, INCOME as such should not be taxed. (b) We withdraw money from Banks to GET SERVICES from the Society. Hence levy tax on WITHDRAWAL FROM THE BANKS by way of TDS. (c)Present withdrawals are around 1000 lakh crores. Just 1% TDS should produce around 10 lakh crores w/o any tax returns and at zero cost at that. (d) If TDS is prescribed from 0.1 to 5% and interest on Bank Deposit is kept at say 7%, those paying TDS @ 5% would still be left with 2% in their hands. In such a case almost everyone would opt to deposit all their monies in the Banks so that they earn upto 7% interest and as and when they withdraw money for personal use, they would be paying only 5% TDS. This way government would get a revenue yield 3 or times of the present total revenue collection. Government can then abolish all the present taxes like Central Excise, Service Tax, Octroi, etc. If you are prima facie impressed by my suggestion, it would be my privilege to share my views in detail if approached on sviss38atyahoodotcom. Another tax may be thought of. Reservation facility availment tax. One who takes reservation facility in service, he will have to pay tax straight @ 33% slab.
The important tax you forgot to mention is Taxing the Agriculture Income (above certain threshold) as it is the main source of generation of black money.
My view to put a Natural disaster TAX too, because lot of earthquake/flood/Draught etc, anytime in a corner of our country. Maharastra Govt have implement for draught TAX. IT should centrally.
We should Tax people whose vehicles are Poluting smokes in the environment inspite of they having the Pollution certificates which can be manupulated and brought at no extra money paid.
I think the tax collected as at present should be accounted for properly and nobody should be allowed to eat it up. For example tolls,traffic fines etc. Further everybody who earn by monthly salary should pay tax, may be at any rate i.e.5 per cent or like. The sort of cess Gutka cess,swatch bharat cess, education cess etc should stop then.Further tax payers money should not be utilised to give security to anybody including high profile politicians/officials/business tycoons. If given they should be charged for the entire cost. Anybody who anticipate threat from its own men does not deserve to live. Sorry, I am a bit harsh.
1) Delay in implementation of Projects (big & small); 2) Delay in response to applications of a commoner in government departments; 3) Taxes on local municipality/panchayat for damaged roads; 4) BIG Belly tax/Tax as per degree of fat/range of waistline; 5) Manyfold increase in cost of Liquor/Cigarettes/Tobacco 6) Mannfold increase in reverse proportion to size of attire 7) Taxes on honking, spitting, littering acceptable 8) Tax on more than 2 kids 9) Tax/fine on waste of water 10) Tax on late night gathering 11) Tax on causing traffic jams 12) Tax on unauthorized parking due to round-the-corner PAN/Chai/Samose Gumthis 13) License for construction of any worship-sites (temple/majars)..actually, occupation of any site without adhering to the provisions of parking, loudspeaker noise or crowding should be strictly put in place to discourage it as a means to occupy a public place, play politics on caste/creed.
tax money should be refunded to the citizens who are paying TDS. Severe tax should be levied on police officials & other govt employees not working properly or involved in illegal way of collecting money. These Gvot servants are paid salary from the taxes collected from common men.
