Congrats to India
Congrats to US
Congrats to Canada
Congrats to Korea

Let us all be global citizens when it comes to Science and technology.
Moreover, Manjul Bhargav is Indian at heart when it comes to the roots and culture. He is a scholar in Sanskrit, Good Tabla player and doing good work in History of Indian Mathematics.

About the Indian Media: In south India, I read very good interview with him.(interview through email)
All those concerned about the media plz plz put your feed back/suggestion to all those news channels and print media.Don't expect them to be visionaries. They are just traders. Not concerned about viewr's best interests.

Congratulation on stupendous achievement!
by Das on Sep 06, 2014 02:32 AM  | Hide replies

To call the Fields Medal a Nobel in maths belittles it as it is far greater achievement than Noble. Its given in the toughest academic subject, and furthermore only once every fours years and to someone who is below age of forty. Therefore, it has only been given to forty or fifty odd people. So this is stupendous achievement.

India can not claim him, although Bhargava has every right to show his affinity for India.

As to his observations :"You could see which country was interested (in mathematics) by which media was there,\" he said. Korea\'s Educational Broadcasting System was covering all the ceremonies with live commentary.\The Indian media didn\'t show up at all,\" he said. This is a sad commentary and reflect abysamlly low IQ of average India editor and journalist manning the e-media who will devote endless airtime to this and that Bollywood bird brains life and other frivolousness and are allergic to anything intellectual. Next time watch NDTV's. or any other TV channels' supposedly erudite programmes, they are depressingly dull.

He is not Indian
by ram dalal on Sep 05, 2014 08:05 PM

It will be unfair to call him Indian ! Infact one of the main reasons that his intelligence was recognized in due time is because he is an American . Until the day we decide to stop taking foolish pride like this and be content, we will never be a First World Nation !
