He is not Indian
by ram dalal on Sep 05, 2014 08:05 PM

It will be unfair to call him Indian ! Infact one of the main reasons that his intelligence was recognized in due time is because he is an American . Until the day we decide to stop taking foolish pride like this and be content, we will never be a First World Nation !

India has a pathetic habit as a pathetic country. When ever an American or other national person (of Indian origin) has done something excellent, India or their people forcefully call them Indian and forcefully try to be proud. They are not Indians, only Indian origin. Neither, India or Indian cattle class people deserve any credit for that. So pls stop playing foolish proud game.

U u do not consider ur self as an indian, and it doesn't make a difference but infact we are better off without u

But other expatriate do consider themselves one. I have relatives all over the world and they strongly identify themselves as Indians. Including those born abroad.

The culture of food language cricket bollywood and also ancient history bonds them with us

Wasn't this guy also not looking for indian media there?

Does not indian movies really do well abroad? And who are its viewers?

During the recent one cricket matches in England, yes in England, India is getting more supporters. And most of them are locals indian born

aim sure u must be a musalman

While I might not agree with the way he put his opinion, we do have to agree that if he was an Indian in India, he wouldn't have even come close to being considered for the Fields Medal. I cannot understand why we jump up everytime somebody even remotely close to an Indian origin wins something big. In this person's case, his parents immigrated to the U.S. more than 50 years ago, and he is way way more American than he is Indian. This is not India's achievement, and if he shows affinity to India, then that is something great on his part.

He is not Indian, he is an American born in the U.S., just that his parents are of Indian origin (almost everybody in the U.S. originate from somewhere else, except the Native Americans) Stop trying to call him and "Indian brother"
