Bachelors are discriminated like terrorists here. North Indians are treated like untouchables here(I am a south Indian though). I have lived and worked in many cities, some of which are Hyderabad, Bangalore, New Delhi, Bhubaneshwar, Bhopal and Indore. Nowhere i felt like I am into any mental asylum unless i came 2 mumbai. You can be arrested for ringing at the wrong bell, no matter how you apologize. Even ringing a murderer's door is much safer. You can be be victimized for requesting your young neighbor to reduce the volume of their irritating item songs' loud volume. A search warrant may be issued against you if u refuse to pay minimum 500 INR to some men, who claim themselves to be society secretaries, for donations for their daily festivals(thousands of festivals for Hindus) I had personally faced these weird problems, and the some mumbaikars are like, ye yahan ka system hai, aapko system ke hisaab se jeena padega. Nowhere i had ever seen such pathetic system. Fooding is not good. Laundry system ll loot you like 100 INR per piece of cloth just for washing, and people term Mumbai as Dhobi Ghat.
Last but not the least, after facing such weirdest problems, which you ll not face even in the costliest city in the world, Tokyo, where i was once deputed for 8 months, some Mumbaikars will come to you and say, "Now that you have come to Mumbai, you ll never leave it. You ll settle down here." Srsly, it ws a mental asylum 4 me, worser than Tokyo, where ppl hardly can spe

My friend, every day 500 families enter Mumbai, what do you expect? I loved my city Mumbai very much but now i have moved out because of crowd, chaos and congested environment. Nevertheless, despite all this Mumbai is only city in India that provides livelihood to maximum number of people. It has the highest number of migrants from other parts of India, and Mumbai law and order is much better than any metro grade city in India.
Practically speaking, drive from Thane/Navi Mumbai to South Mumbai takes much less than godforsaken suburbs like Kandivli,Dahisar, etc. Besides, the infrastructure,Malls, entertainment avenues, quality of life, etc is much better than those Western suburbs. So if those nincompoops look down upon Thane/Navi Mumbai folks, then Thane people don't even care about technically staying in Mumbai while practically staying in a godforsaken place...
Unless Maharashtra is not separated from Mumbai there will be no development activity in Maharashtra or Vidharbha. Bablu Jai Prakash, Lena Na dena, Nations Cheaters Party. have contributed to maximum suicides of farmers in recent past. The political parties assets & funds growth has increased by collecting huge extortion money from Industrialists, Farmers, Land dealers lobby, illegal empires build on untaxed and unauthorized business ventures with frauds in government institutions with a linkage to all political parties. Mumbai has become an fort of all illegal activities like Ladies Bars, rackets,.... Last 15 years so called development in Western Maharashtra has been only in the sector of selling land as well as agricultural land, reducing rice farming/wheat cultivation, low grade industrialization. For last 15 years coolmadi & pOwar are searching for a land for two airports in Mumai & Foona...
It is only good for doing number two in the open public spaces and conning people into handing over their money in lieu of providing services they are too lazy to do themselves like getting newspaper, vegetables, milk and bread from the grocery store around the corner!

Yup. Had shock of my life when I saw people taking bath on median and then realized there are worse things done in public.
This is simply a very dirty, smelly, overcrowded city where human life and hardships have no values. Why do people work as normal, even when 100 people died in a blast previous night / 1000 people drowned? There is no other option. Work all the time, just to survive. Good life is enjoyed by 1% south mumbai elites. For the rest, it is survival in this this huge slum called Mumbai.
