Unnecessary Article
by Santa on Jan 10, 2014 05:26 PM  | Hide replies

Looks like this interview was published by rediff only due to the lack of better content. The main problem I have with this type of articles is that it dilutes the other cases of fema1e harrassment, which are far more serious, which require immediate attention. By reading this type of articles, people tend to believe that w0men try to blow even small things out of proportion, just to make noise and get attention. That said, the thoughts of 1ady lawyer are not coherent and her tone conveys prejudice and disrespect towards all men, in general. I hope she gets rid of this attitude sooner than later.

What was the Hon'ble court doing?. On suo-motto it can review the issue and advise the Bar council to lift the Ban. Freedom to express is one of the fundamental right given under Constitution. Here it is sought to be curbed. When so many people comments even on Supreme Court Judgment, what is wrong in expressing her views in a public forum when she has not named anybody.

Eve teasing...
by Kaisher Ghaffar on Jan 10, 2014 04:51 PM

I agree with the lady lawyer. But I also need to point out that only a woman will understand how she felt. We men are Neanderthals, therefore we find it difficult and many a times fail to understand how a woman feels when a man who really does not know her, use terms as ‘sugar candy’ or ‘darling’ or some other phrase. Why the heck are we men so pitifully petrified of a girl, lady or woman who is intelligent? When will we men liberate ourselves from this narrow thought process?

I find it nothing but just a way to get fame and ride up the ladders fast. Why she felt the problem enough to comment on FB. If someone talks to you softly, is it gender bias. Where was she when all the women favoring laws were being created. She should have come forth and asked to remove word "women" and replace it with work "human" in all dv, 498a, stalking, 125 etc. laws, she should have asked lawmakers to treat them equally. stalking a man should also be punishable and the same thing in all other laws. but they do not say a word at that time coz at that time it is in their favor not gender biased. Even science has proven that men and women minds and body are configured differently, they are not equal but still complete and compliment each other. 1 kg of iron and 1 kg of cotton are same in weight but still not same in their usage and every aspect but still you can not replace one with another. one person can not talk the same language with men and women both else again these feminists will stand up for disrespect of women no matter its not the intent. Think logically and treat males equal to you and take responsibility equally first then say we need equality.

Vinay you are perfectly right. Here there is no chauvinism but reasonableness. If constitution is for equal rights then why laws have been enacted favouring women. In the eyes of law there should be equal treatment to all irrespective of one's religion, caste, gender or language.

I am surprised by the FB statement of Lady. How she become uncomfortable when she was treated as sister or mother or daughter. It does not subjudicate. Tell as feminist, if she treats male cooleagues as brother, father or Son is it wrong.I am still have not understand the correct meaning of feminst. If the lawyer can explain, I can check whether it has any value.

Nothing wrong in treating the colleagues as a family members and work place like a family. IF some one treats fresher like a Sister, daughter etc nothing wrong in that, if doesn't like she should convey infront of them, not to treat like that

This exactly is the problem. Do you really bracket your male colleague into "brother-father" category? Then, why shd you do that with a female colleague? Is that a rocket science to understand that a female colleagues too is to be considered a "colleague" and respected as a human being? The problem with our attitude is this - we wither treat them as deities or as an object, both highly regressive.
