Switzerland plans to give a universal salary of 2800 dollars (in Swiss money) to all its citizens to use as they please as a minimum salary. If they want to work they can and keep this bonus. The Swiss want to do this because it boosts their economy and eliminates unemployment compensation beurocracy . Similarly India can give every citizen of India a universal income of say, 5000 rupees per man , woman and child per year for a total outlay of 6.5 trillion and boost the GDP by 5 times that to 32.5 trillion rupees. In summary, give them money and let the economy do the rest!n9 need for fish and fishing rods.

Not big money but significant money for a business
by Satyanarayana Guda on Feb 20, 2014 03:16 PM

In market value terms the approximate funding circulating in in India among social entrepreneurs could be of the order of Rupees 10000 crores annually (approximately). Yes. It is not big enough. But big enough as compared to business volume of Be ggars m afi a in Metro and big cities.

First of all best wishes and also appreciation for the goodwork. Having said this:Among social enterprises are, Those run by Foreign returned, IIM grads, Retd IAS, Bankers, Harvard, MIT etc foreign educated, Others not belonging to the above categories etc. But in reality 9 out of every 10 NGOs are fsters. Say if Rupess 100 is received by these social enterprises from Foreign sources only rupees ten go to the target. Similarly from Funds given by SRTT kind of trusts also 0nly 10% go to target. Similarly 20% of money received by these social enterprises from Go vt agencies goes to target people. Please note most of these Professionally run social enterprises prefer fo reign funding or projects sponsored by ADB, GTZ, DFID, World Bank,Kfw, Foreign donors, HIVOs, CSR of Foreign companies, Donors like SRTT kind of trusts. This is because the accountabilty, showing actual results on Ground is almost very simple and easy and these kinds of funders are satisfied with photographs, videos, ppts and written reports and also easy to f**l them on field. Then all small time, govt funded projects (Say vocational skill schools, hostels etc for other wise abled, orphan homes, small surveys (Like Backward Regions Grant Fund) so on and so forth are simply taken by these not pro fessionally run local NGOs. All in all as a person worked for reputed social enterprise can for certain say that on ly 10% of fund goes to target people and truth is only reprts and photoes.

Poor people have no ability to defend their rights, and only education can give it to them provided it provocative, aggressive, and scientific. NGOs and Charity should try that, though it is socially almost impossible. Communist armed revolution is the only thing that even partly comes near it, but that is clearly impossible in India now.

No scheme can save the prey animal from the predator animals. These poor humans have to be converted into predators, and loose identification as prey.

Breeding of poor has also to be ended. No one looks at these simple truths. All want to talk of fashionable ways of dealing with poverty, as if it were a sport, but do not want to consider it as a man made crime against humanity.

Exactly right. And it is easy. India's economy has this balance.DEFICITS = NET PRIVATE SAVINGS. In rupees and IMPORTS =EXPORTS in $
DEFICIT is free money created at zero cost. A good part can be given away to eliminate poverty. INDIA can create infinite rupees.

World Free from Poverty
by DrSatya Jyoti on Feb 20, 2014 02:22 PM

Physical and material poverty will be abolished from the world when we really become the "stewards" or "Trustees" of resources and gifts that Nature has endowed us with and not the "Owners".

Though this may sound impractical at this stage, the long term solution is where every individual voluntarily uses his excess or disposable income for less privileged brothers and sisters. This should not be by "force" or "compulsion' but the civilized society should be trained about the "importance of sharing" particularly will the 'deprived ones" right from the early childhood.

Mother Nature is gracious and resourceful enough to "feed" however, she cannot satisfy everyone's "Greed" that has stemmed up from endless materialism and "mammon" worship.
Congratulations to Youngsters who are so concerned about the people around. People like Swetha are ray of hope for the human society.

hunger and poverty

Hunger and poverty can only die when the money actually gets to people and has strings attached to it. The money should also directly get to people. If politicians get in it, gone money gone.
