In many states food grains are available for Rs 2 per KG for BPL people. If they work hard for 1 day they will get Rs 200 salary. PBL people want to be poor because they don't want to work hard and they want to take benefit of government scheme. Such schemes spoil the indian economy because people don't work and they spoil the people because people want to be poor.

well-said. politicians ensure by this a vote-bank that is ever increasing. if economy improves and per capita income increases, netas will have no followers. they require some followers calling them "mai baap"
Governments around the world are in a handout mode. That can provide a helping means for poor to lift themselves out of poverty but what we find is that more and more people enroll under such programmes. That clearly means that handouts/doles can only be a temporary mechanism for welfare of poor. Real upliftment of poor takes place only when they are gainfully employed and participate in growth of the nation. Any other method provides short term relief only and drags the entire country into inflation and taxation.
Your mission is a possible one. No doubt and go ahead with the effort that you have taken. Being a development consultant, i was able to address the poverty of the disabled people and vulnerable people to a great extend in Tamilnadu with the little support that we got from individuals and government. If you work with right kind of local partners by extending required training and periodical monitoring and evaluation, you may able to implement the projects effectively in the field. Whether poverty is reduced or not , her poverty will definitely be reduced. Soon she will be asking for fund for this cause as Bollywood Actor Aamir khan did in Satyamev Jayate with the support of program sponsors but only increased their wallet size.
