Despite having been a unique experience in the rather wayward Delhi, English grammer has not been DMRC’s forte. The ideation is entirely in Hindi which lends itself to amusing rendering in English : Metro Version : The train to Dwarka is going to enter Platform No. 1. Hindi Version : Dwarka ko jane wali gadi platform No. 1 par aane ja rahi hai! Correct English : The train to Dwarka is about to enter Platform No. 1. Metro Version : Eating, drinking and smoking is not allowed in Metro. Doing this is a punishable offence. Hindi Version : Metro mein khana, peena aur dhumrpan varjit kai; aisa karna dandniya apradh hai! Correct English : Eating, drinking and smoking is not allowed in Metro. It is a punishable offence to do so. Metro Version : First coach in moving direction is reserved for ladies! Pray, what is ‘moving direction’? And, can the first coach be at the rear of train? Correct English : First coach at the head of train is reserved for ladies!
