The crux of the story?
by Nagarajan Viswanathan on Dec 10, 2014 10:00 AM

The crux of the story is; look after yourself rather than blame others for everything. When you board a train or a bus,you are warned;"look after your belongings, the authorities are not responsible for any loss or theft".

How about employing more female police officers, judges, and politicians since males are insensitive or blame the victims? Also start educating boys and men what "consent" means and teaching them that rape is bad. The burden can't only be on women.

Nirbhaya case was judged by a female judge. The case was highlighted a lot and everyone living in the north would definately know about it.

Still you have these people with such mentality looking to abuse a girl when they find her alone.

In my opinion, women need to keep pepper spray with them, compulsorily learn any form of defense art and be good at it. Because when they are alone, that is when the attack happens and they need to fight and take matters into own hands which will show and leave a patch on the mind of such guys that women wont give in and they are not easy to target anymore.

Apart from that I think prostitution should be made legal. It should help bring down the rape cases we hear about.

I think women should have guns. I know it is far reaching, but pepper spray is nothing when a potential rapist or rapists are about to victimize a lady. Also isn't that pepper spray has to be sprayed on the attackers eyes. What is the probability of a direct hit? Also not all women can learn self defense. Lets be practical. Its a messed up situation. Cannot always have a male to accompany, cannot always get a office cab, May have to travel at night .. wow..
How about a high pitch siren along with pepper spray and a GPS tracking device some where hidden on the dress or the hand bag. These personal GPS tracking devices are about $39 in US and it will be cheaper in India if there is a market.

These GPS devices work on SIM card and they constantly ping the Lat/Long, so family and company can track the where abouts.

It is more important to work in improving and
correcting these real issues of the mind and brain
through discipline, psychotherapy, education and
medicine if required and understand the science of
the mind. Hypersexuality and other issues should be treated.

More important things.

First thing, do all that the above article says. This is all defensive stuff. Good to do and follow.

Then, also carry some potent sprays, so just in case the guy has other ideas. You have to be both offensive and defensive.
