Can women be safe.
by am on Dec 12, 2014 03:57 AM

I think th equesIndian women can be very safe if Indian men learnt self control. I have travelled to many countries in the world and am living in the US. Never have I been groped or touched inappropriately except in my own country, India.

Women can never be safe unless they take precautions!

Rep is a crime of opportunity. If women leave themselves vulnerable to a situation in which a man comes to believe that he can get away with committing this crime he will commit this crime!

Women in India can start by dressing up professionally or conservatively.

"Dressing appropriately" is a raw nerve issue among Indian women but it does help them if they start believing that they don't live in the West where what a woman wears doesn't matter!

And of course as long as there are North Indian men in India, no woman is really safe because these animals will rep anything (b3ast, flower, fruit or vegetable) remotely female!

What kind of a convoluted logic is this?

We can't take the responsibility to teach our sons to behave so we need to tell our daugthers to behave.

Once sons and daughters reach adolescence, neither can be controlled irrespective of duration of teachings and other efforts that parents put in. They learn about life the hard way, unless government enforces precautionary measures combined with strict laws.

Rememeber - even passengers can be criminals.

So, This kind of hysteria helps no one.

What must be done:
1. Street Lights everywhere - working condition.
2. Don't force shut-down cities at 11 PM - that itself creates environment for crime.
3. Corrupt policemen shud be fired.

Cabs cannot be anymore or less safe then rest of the city.

And don't party, drink and pass out on back seat of the car after 11 pm. Even men shud not do that.

Y are rapes continuously occuring in states like DELHI , I read news about year ago " every 45 mins one rape and murder in DELHI" Are there no educated people in DELHI, Rapists belong to which class or sections of society..... Rapists belong to what age group, ? Y is DELHI earning a reputation as a Metro where rapes and crimes occur? Its a place where all PMs and Presidents and Ministers live Cant these ministers do something for stopping such heinous crimes? Is the exposure of Indian actresses encouraging rapes???

In fact, there are too many people with too much education and too much western influence in Delhi. In south, people are more conservative.

Making taxi ride more safer for lone women passengers
by Thatti Suresh on Dec 09, 2014 01:54 PM

Law enforcement system in India should make it compulsory that all taxi companies to introduce a reinforced partition between front and back of the taxi [between driver and rear seat passenger] and need to provide locking system for this partition controlled by rear seat passenger. Also both the side doors of the rear of the taxi should have additional locking system and should be under the control of real seat passengers.
Once passenger takes the taxi, she should lock both side doors as well as the partition between during the entire journey.
These two small actions could prevent the lusty drivers trying to commit the heinous crime on lone women taxi riders which has become a real menace in India.
What to do ? Fraction of Indian men are behaving more like primitives .
Drivers should not have access to the rear of the taxi throughout journey.
Time and again people are voicing out that more stricter punishment like castrating etc should be imposed for these perpetrators. But still Indian law has stuck up to the century old punishment guided by Britishers.
Hence there is no fear of the law and punishment and the crime is increasing every day
