Before embarking any taxi or auto at night or taxi - inter city take the picture of the Number Plate even while the driver is looking - have been standard instructions in my family.

I agree. We often do the same. But I feel the registration number, the name and the picture of the driver should be displayed inside the passenger cabin (rear seat), so the passenger can take the picture while inside and send by Whatsapp. Better speak out he number and name of the driver loudly on cellphone to the family. Once this becomes a standard practice, the drivers wont mind and wont feel insulted. It will be a great deterrent to the criminal minded drivers.

But If we observe fault on girl's side, then media will treat this as Moral policing. So whatever girls drink, whatever she wear, it comes under Women's Right. If any one abuses such girl then it is a law and order problem.

Before getting into a cab/auto either call or pretend to call someone and inform that you are getting into a cab/auto with *** reg. no. and expect to reach your destination by so and so time.

by prakash iyer on Dec 08, 2014 01:29 PM

out of 8 points only 1 point is fully correct dont sleep in the cab if alone. coz rest all if a girl is in infatuation she will try to hide her whereabouts to her parents and they are into trouble..most of the time..coz they are not ready to believe their parents so this is happening..

THE MOST IDIOTIC ADVICE, I HAD EVER HEARD!
by Kabeer on Dec 08, 2014 01:27 PM  | Hide replies

These are the most idiotic advice that I had ever heard; like subscribing to self defence classes, carrying a small knife, pepper sprays etc.,.

Defence does not come naturally; criminals have that kind of aggression before which all these half baked training unpractised pale when the event happens.

The most Importan advice I would give is:

Before embarking any taxi or auto take the picture of the Number Plate even while the driver is looking and then MMS to your family and friends; even if you don't MMS atleast pretend so and call a number and inform loudly that you are travelling in that taxi saying aloud the registration number.

Knives and pepper sprays can be used against you either to harm you or in helping in subduing you. When he is assaulting you, will you reach to your bag or do you fight back?
