Joshi, u should invest in equity mutual funds through SIPs and not in insurance based funds. Insurance based funds eats up your fund value.

Anyone who got rich in like manner here?
by mas mas on Aug 13, 2014 09:26 AM  | Hide replies

I would like to know whether its worth the risk to invest in such funds? I started a pension plan in EXIDE LI for 12K x 15 years and after three years the first 12K installment has reduced to 9K as of late!
Please advise

Patience is the key. I invest in SBI Horizon since 7 years and my return is 20% even after allocation of 20,15,10 and 5 % later.

sir we all make same mistakes always. the article tells us about equity based mutual funds investment and not pension fund or insurance. Insurance is an expense and not investment, always remember. Do SIPs in equity based mutual funds only for capital appreciation. I have gained so i am one of the gainers in MFs.

ankit singhal, it is not fools paradise. that is what is called investment. why do you think 1 share of berkshire hathaway is worth $200k today ? if you dont have the patience, then investing is not for you. you can spend what you earn and live life like a pauper in your old age

Basically author is a fool
by vishal patel on Aug 12, 2014 02:28 PM  | Hide replies

The author has basically invested in co's like silverline , and telling us also to do the same .
He thinks the general public is an idiot like him . His attitude can be reflected frm the point he wants to make 8500 cr in quick way , which is not possible
If he wants to do it , the pubic welcomes him .
Even if he had money he wouldnt have the guts to invest 1 cr in infosys , can he do ??
Do and show , and earn then preach .

Fool's paradise article not expected from Subramoney
by Rahul Joshi on Aug 12, 2014 02:26 PM

Really, this is all make believe to push people into equity investing. There are many caveats to the facts presented here that it can only be termed as creating a fools paradise.

Subramoney has always come out with pragmatic advice, this was not expected.
