Overrated Quack!! Have guts to face the relatives!
by jackz jones on Apr 15, 2014 09:58 PM  | Hide replies

my close relative recently underwent open heartsurgery at his hospital in mumbai. Not only did my relative not survive the operation, but the doctor did not have the guts the face us. His promise of being able to successfully handle the surgery turned out to be completely fake. Dr. Panda had given us a 10% risk with 90% success rate for our procedure. our relative died within 2 days of the operation at the ICU. All calls to contact the doctor after her passing away fell on deaf ears.
These over the top self proclaimed high talk will continue from such quacks until the government comes up with a audit such doctors and institutions. Sorry to say until then claims like these will go unchecked and we will remain heart broken after the passing away of our loved one. Pathetic!!!

There is a belief that he pushes people to surgery even if they don't need it
He had borrowed heavily to build the hospital
It's no doubt a five star hospital, very professional ,employees are unhappy with his brother who mans the admin

Totally agree. He has borrowed heavily for his hospital and he had to recoup the costs/loan somehow. Sadly, this
will go unnoticed in a India where the judiciary is a puppet at the hands of such influential people
who can hire the best lawyers to defend them and there is no government oversight into public grievances.

In India it has become a business by the doctors to advice for bye pass surgery even if not needed to earn money. They also put out dated stents and still charges patients an exorbient price. The next most popular surgery is of knee replacement and even for a slight pain Doctors suggest patients for a knee surgeries to mint money. In India there is no medical awareness among people and the Doctors take them for a ride . However Dr Panda is somewhat better than other Doctors who charge money in black from the patients before giving appointment for operation and the highest amount in black is charged by one Bengali surgeon who never take any risk of performing complicated surgeries to keep his success record high.

Outcome of surgery and the 5 yr survival rate not mentioned
by Manohar kaul on Apr 15, 2014 08:23 PM  | Hide replies

Before we call the leader in surgery or medicine let us see what was the mortality rate of his outcome of surgery as also the percentage of the morbidity. This is the criteria of the successful treatment medical or surgical treatment and not the total no. of surgeries incl. the % of 5 yr survival rates. This is called medical audit and without this information this article may mislead.

Completely agree with you sir. These are just self proclaimed bombastic claims!! I have first hand experience with the doctor. He can barely communicate! He is egoistic and is barely able to get his point across to you.

But then all this is part of propaganda. Indian law does not allow advertisement by Medical professionals. But, through such routes, they continue to do this to hoodwink the people. Governments are only happy seeing all this - leaving the most basic need at the hands of corporate hospitals who run hospitals like hotels!

I dont think there is any such parameter in medical industry. Survival depends on proper care, precaution and strictly follow what the doctor prescribed. In this case it is said that he is a highly successful doctor. It is highy impossible to suggest why the patient died within 4 years after surgery. It might be because of not following the doctor's advise or it might cause due to surgery. It is another study all together..

Experts and Pioneers

India is having a lot of experts but almost no pioneer. Dr. Panda is certainly an excellent expert at the world level on cardiac surgery, but when it comes to the question of pioneer it is only one Dr. Christian Bernard! Experts are many and will be forgotten in course of time, but pioneer is only one and shall win the test of time.

Christian Bernard was a Black Doctor ...If I remember well from my English Textbooks!

Heart is an amazing organ!

Heart Tissue should be able to be produced....concentrate on the neurons or nerves in the heart too!

heart will be nothing without the nerves...don't look at it separately!

I wonder if it has chambers like a empty vessel pumping blood or collection of special tubes like that in veins?

Give us some more details please...thanks for the picture to let know bypass!
