Friends when IT is in good position companies treat employee you will be called 'Assets'. when average propit you will called as Then 'bench assets'. And at last 'cost assets'
Upgrade your skill, Upgrade your skills, Upgrade your skills. It is always not true that you have to find a project for yourself, There are dedicated groups which help to find suitable opportunities within the company

Now since I am experienced; the Cos recruiting for smaller positions dont need me. The lateral positions arent interested due to the career gap.

Layoff has been a very very good learning experience. It taught me how selfishness is not bad. Actually good to a certain extent
Be IT at what ever the level, always do remember , you can survive as long as you can YOU KNOW business and IT together, if you don't know you might be at risk always. but if you are smart and booby lady and u know how to play with peers and mgrs with skin show, that's exception as SKIN and Booby women do survive any where, be IT or or Retail. simple
Fact of the matter is that this man was the wrong man in the job. Never seem to have learnt anything to progress himself in the career. If talented and skilled there is no dearth of jobs even during the height of recession.

Hi mister supersmart...what u do for living...this is what he is telling "Dont take it for granted"
It is true that IT industry is tough but so do every job. If your performance is not good no one will take u in any project and u will be on bench. Performance is needed in every field not even IT. Take example of housemaid, if she doesn't sweep ur floors clean u will get rid of her quickly. Is it not? So don't bother about what this guy says. There is nothing to worry about. Give performance take job but dont stretch yourself too much. No one is as harsh as this person told. He is an obvious under performer
