Union Cabinet ministers were confused about AADHAR when they met on Thursday. A startling report.
Believe it or not, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's [ Images ] Cabinet is unable to arrive at a consensus on the exact identity of AADHAAR -- the Unique Identification Number, UID.
Union Finance Minister P Chidambaram [ Images ] thinks it is 'just a number'. He is correct. But Union Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar [ Images ], Railway Minister Pawan Bansal and other ministers say: 'It is a card.'
Please don't pressure students & teachers to get aadhaar which useless (on its own website declares voluntary). First thing is whether it is government or private company giving this. I request UGC members do you have Aadhar numbers.

During the voter ID campaign the verifying officer insisted that I take the woman as my wife whose photograph was printed on my wife's card. I refused and my wife cud not caste her vote that year.
UGC should first look at the real scenario and then come out with such idiotic order. there is waiting period of 9 months then how can you expect to get it so fast. They will collect the data and as usual, it is under process. A nice way to reduce the scholarship amount.
