tragic for women but "mardanagi" for me. Women, sisters, mothers shud stop treqeting male siblings as special. It gets into their veins that they can get away. Every girl shud be given "Pepper Spray" the moments she reaches puberty. She can use it, there will be 50% reduction in rapes. REDIFF please stop all these mungrels from linking it to Corruption, North Indians or any other thing
rape is a nasty crime. the criminals should be punished immediately. But we as a society must go to the root cause for all these evils. Male mosquitos do not bite humans. Female peacock is being attracted by the male with its beatiful feathers. In humanbeings female attract men. right to property equal oppurtunity, etc., must be equal. But certain work is done by men, leave it to them. even a decent young men would not even argue and fight with rowdy elements. women should always move around within the safety parameters. Just politicians say they are equals, does not mean they have to roam around and take risky jobs and assignments.
Shouldn't be working at night.. Employers must also ensure that there are no late sittings for females & generally they should wind up by 8.30 PM (latest).. If at all working in BPO/Call center, make sure they stay/work in office entire night (no point in leaving at odd times like 1 /2 AM).
Actually none of the place is safe for women crowed or lonely unless until she takes care of herself. We as women expect prompt help from police. As a precaution she should try to be away from mischievous people. She should avoid going in lonely places. Police force should provide help to her immediately before the happening of crime.
As rapes are occuring often in Incredible India, police and administration department including the PM are silent and unable to take any actions, the public can act on their own too to punish those criminals. As we see olice and admin are spineless, so if the public kils such criminals, the police & admin will do the same i.e. watch silently. Instead of complaing all the time, as public we should take violently against such crimes and criminals. The Indian admin is a shame and hence we should just ignore them.
Whole sale changes like eliminating all rapists, psychopaths,drugaddicts , anti law elements is next to impossible in this world . Instead we can look at plausible changes like
Have a deterrent punishment to the convicted , treat hostile witnesses as accused too .
Have proper lightings, infrastructure in almost all places . Yes this helps too .
Educate ppl on the possible dangers , have warning systems asking general public to avoid certain places at certain times .
Ask policfe personnel to keep a tab on thes places..
The root cause is the cinema. Women are depicted poorly. The Hero does all sorts of rowdyism on Heroine, short of that act. This corrupts the mind of the person and instigates him to indulge in rape. The women should protest vehimently against the films showing them in poor light and never permit the screening. No point in protest after each and every rape incident.

The dressing of women in cinema has to be changed according to the Indian Culture, as the cinema has had a great impact on the common men particularly who are addicted/ intoxicated by circumstances. Hence, the Censor Boards have to go through the old cinemas and censor the films effectively
India got a lot of business to support the economy. These businesses are from western countries.
Now the job demands to work at night.
Does the Country have the right Infrastructure and Security in place to address this situation.
The answer is NO.
Political Leaders and Business Tycoons wants western Business with the existing poor security norms and lack of Infrastructure (CCTV cameras and Security Patrols)
The still use the same old stuff and do the same thing as they did in 1940.
