Why do u bother? Anna university stands nowhere near the colleges mentioned here. It's a total junk...
India wont happen till S0nia leaves. Lets examine India success under PVN Rao, under NDA, and now collapsed under UPA.
1990s: PVN Rao did gr8. But MMS- technocrat: stopped our social sector & education: led 2 uproars.
But, Indians energies got expressed, eg, Infosys & honest businessmen. Also 1000s of SMEs, manufacturers, boomed. It was NOT MMS! he gave 100 CR to RajivFoundation!
India's boom, therefore, was selfMADE, not FDI. India didNOT use FDI: not like China.
Now S0niazIndia gets foreignDrugsTerroristicBlack monies, playing havoc with us. All-knowing MMS cleverly plays quiet.
2000s: 2nd boom under Vajpayee: India truly flowered (except farm sector: debts andSuicides. Vajpayee made RiverInterLinking project, to fix this).
But S0nia trashed the project: so farmer debts andSuicides escalated by lakhs.
S0nia created NREGA: massive L00ts here; not one SINGLE ASSET!
NREGA cash fills C0NGpockets, by socking you and me, via multiple taxes, high fuel-food-electricity-water-gas.
We donot need FDI, as huge capital hoarded up by S0niazMen, RIGHT-WINGers.
Clean businessmen scared of S0nia: Rush to Gujarat, MP, South.
Income tax officers openly speak of nests of, like, 30-50 crore! GovtOfficersL00ters want share: so businesses shut down.
MMS has noHonesty norWill, to correct India. But good in CRUEL decisions like FDI: slave to West.
Being from a state where there is hardly a good school,it may be immature to comment why we dont have a university within the top rank of 200.It was not expected after 65 yrs of independence.To be one among 200 govt should give free hand to the so called experts without letting any shade of politician shadow.Morality and ethics in profession should be upheld in India,than only we can be a member to the family of the best.
Its really a shame to see that we are no were near these universities.. As far as my knowledge goes, there is a lot of nepotism, promoting inferior talent for vested interest, involvement of political forces in appointment of teachers are to be blamed. As these teachers who are rank bad only help produce even lesser quality students, who in turn will be of little use in taking forward the standards. I am a witness to political patronage of teachers in various fields who are otherwise not even good for being a lower grade clerks. By the way, some of the clerical staff are also made professors in the long run using their clout. There should be an introspection by the Government or the governing bodies and the system should be made independent of all these clutches, if at all we aspire to produce quality education and innovation in the long run.
Number of reasons are there for not a single Indian university in top 200 lists as there are no research infrastructure in Indian universities. For research there are special institutes which are of no meaning. Politics is all where in Universities where low grades students get jobs because of their settings with old professors or politicians. In research institutes students are tortured by their guides and ultimately loose their interest in research. The fellowships are so less that good students either go for engineering or MBA. Left out students come for general studies whose primary goal is to get a job.
But many talents(from IITs) are going to settle in US and western countries. In India, universities have less number of facilities(Instruments etc.,) as compared to national research institute. With too much facilities, people(not all) who work as scientist in research institute they do nothing(every day just they go for tea many times, talk some thing and come back home). However, many master and phd students in universities are suffering without sufficient facilities. If universities would have same facilities like research institutes, then our universities could have reached top position. In addition, most of the Profs in India trouble the students. These are the main problems for the failure of Indian universities.
All education from leading universities across the world if we are generating people ho do not have humanity. Today we see people coming to the job market with very low ethics which is the basic requirement for any job or position. What is the use of these universities if the students indulge in profiteering and unethical practices like we saw in Corporate world in India and abroad.

Indian Universities are the manufacturing centres of Degree Certificates to be eligible for applying for Jobs.
Indian universities can never ever come in top 10 or 20,the present technology that used from communication ,medicine to information technology were created in the doors of western universities.Indian education system only produces service engineer,doctors and other professionals, there is no scope for invention ,innovation ,discovery in Indian education system , Indian system is based on degree, route learning and memory , there is no scope for imagination and creativity, even after producing 8 lakh engineers not even a single invention has been out thats used around the world.

Please don't criticize. first find out the problems and try to solve it. Followings are problems as far as I came to know. But many talents(from IITs) are going to settle in US and western countries.
