I found non-IT companys' Personal Department better than than the grandiose HR of giant IT companies listed among top 5 in India.

It is a cost to company. The dept feels they can do anything with the employees and develop a ego. It then becomes a dangerous situation to be in bad books of HR.

Actually, every dept head should have HR skills and there should not be any separate HR dept.

Most hated department
by Sameer Bhagwat on Sep 11, 2012 08:04 PM

HR is the most hated department in any Company.I've dated a couple of HR girls, they have no option but to throw policy at employees even if they know something is wrong. Can't blame the HR folks , many of them try hard. But there are a few who think they run the company.. as well.

The HR department is the most pampered department in any organisation with hardly any accountability like Marketing, Sales, Production, Procurement, etc. They merely conduct programmes for the employees just to fill their own appraisal forms. There is no honest feedback either to the employee or something substantial being done to improve his performance. There are HR personnel who manipulate employee satisfaction surveys just to get a better rating for themselves and for the organisation without taking into account the honest feedback given by the employees.

Its simple...

Who is paying the HR?
the employer.

So where should the loyalty be?
towards employer.

So who is with the employee?
Nobody.

So what is the purpose of having HR in first place?
To make sure that the employer doesn't get into trouble, legal or otherwise, due to any employee, never the other way round.

Case closed!

Hi Rakesh
Looks like you have a deep Grudge against the HR fraternity.. were you recently Fired?? Just curious.. these kind of pathological agnst is a manifestation of one's own feelings when someone himself/herself has a history of being fired/sacked for a host of reasons...

HR! is it a joke?
by Hari Menon on Sep 11, 2012 01:12 PM  | Hide replies

HR, all know, is just the most inefficient and yet highly paid function. Especially, in IT companies, HR dept is packed with immature girls straight from graduation ready to flash out their teeth and cleavge at the drop of a hat, but have no real knowledge about anything related to Labour Laws.

Totally agree with you. They are just show piece. Most of the work is being out sourced and they are busy with organizing events or acting as escorts for foreign visitors.

Be fair Guys, what Jobs/Roles are you guys into? Are you just Plain Jealous that HR guys are well paid? While I agree that most of the HR folks around are not well versed with Labor Laws, understand the fact that Labor Laws are just one of the components of HR- it is a Sub-Set of HR, not the other way round? Educate Yourselves. Which organizations have you seen HR ladies flaunting their cleavages at you? You both sound like extremely irresistible around ladies that they seem to pant and sweat seeing you and suddenly start flashing their assets at you.!!! Escorts??? You will be the biggest liar and hypocrite if you tell me that you have not played the role of a cheap escort licking your boss's boots at some time (grasping whatever mental capacities you guys may have from the above comments)....
