Windows 8 is a nice OS and it is going to give uniform experience on Mobile, Tablet and PCs. The market equation is simple, who ever gives what the people wants will get more demand. Apple and IOS is very good and they created special segment in the smartfone market. Samsung gaine much with their Android phones and they also are having some good windows 8 phones in queue. Whoever the provider, who ever gives more options with good quality will sustain here for long time. All the best Nokia, Samsung, Iphone to produce great products for futre.
Nokia's Lumia 920 and 820 to take on the iPhone Maximum 3 or 4 posts would have been here if rediff had not used IPhone in the title...!! I Phone wl remain a king...
I was never a fan of iphone..i think its for suckers. I am happy to see serious competittion to iphone... i dont want anyone co to be a monopoly in any industry... its ALWAYS bad for consumers. Competition leads to better quality at reduced prices. Apple invented nothing new with iphone; it just packaged EXISTING tech into a new product for which they have earned more than enough dollars. Time for iphone to go.....

If you use iPhone, you won't have the feeling to touch other phone, Mercedes is Mercedes and iPhone is iPhone just use it once......the batery power is amazing......Also the resale value for iPhone is much more higher compared to other phones...

Merc is Merc, BMW is BMW, Ferrari is Ferrari, no doubt everyone is good! But the battery power, touchscreen(especially capacitive) n other features of other brands are also good if you have ever used. Why can't you see that you are paying too much for a product which doesn't even worth 1/2 of its price? Now even if you go and buy iPhone 3GS 8GB model in Indian market, it will cost you nearly Rs.18000,(iphone4=Rs.35000) at a same price you can buy other models packed with dual core processor. If you had ever compared old models iphone 4 and Galaxy S, both have almost same specs, whereas Galaxy s was costing half of iphone 4.

Sorry Buddy, Have used both the Samsung Galaxy & Iphone 4s. Ofcourse the iphone is ~47k. But it 'works' better & longer. Believe me, it's worth the price, anytime better than the Samsung series.

Since when is the iPhone a monopoly? It's just that they popularized a specific segment in the mobile space. Thereafter, all companies followed suit and Samsung infact sells more smartphones than iPhone. So where is the monopoly?
I have Samsung/Anaroid now, but liked Nokia's robustness and build quality. With Microsoft integration with office products, business users might like it. May not be for the youngistanies for whom image is everything and gadgets are father paid.

better than an ignorant. Apple has won law suit against Samsung, which indirectly is a hit on google/android.

Android is far better than Apple I-fone.. Apple has won only in USA but failed in Japan and Korea. Apple will never able to compete with Samsung.

hey smartass do you know Samsung is not the one using Android?? do you know on what bases Apple won on Samsung??
Some 68.1 percent of smartphones shipped in the second quarter of this year were powered by Android, a jump of more than 15 percent since last quarter, according to new figures released by research firm IDC. The increase has been driven primarily by Korean manufacturer Samsung, which shipped more Android smartphones in the quarter than the next seven vendors combined, and has cut significantly into Apple's share of the market, with iOS dropping from 23 percent to 16.9 percent over the same period.
As Android and iOS expand, powering a record total of 85 percent of devices in Q2, alternatives such as BlackBerry OS, Symbian, and Windows Phone continue to be squeezed. Despite Research In Motion's (RIM) financial woes, BlackBerry OS managed to take third place, shipping on 4.8 percent of devices, but this figure is a far cry from the 11.5 percent share that the system commanded in Q2 2011.
Symbian fares worse, having fallen from 16.9 percent last year to just 4.4 percent in the latest figures, a drop of almost 75 percent. Meanwhile, the combined share of Windows Mobile and Windows Phone 7 sits at 3.5 percent, with Nokia's high-profile Lumia range having so far failed to stimulate significant interest in the platform.

we all know this also samsung is not making profits even after getting android for free
They should voluntarily exit from the Smart phones market.
Forget about the features for the time being and just imagine this Yellow or Blue thing we are using in team meetings. Nobody wants to make fun of himself.
Android has killed Nokia , Android is currently getting 1 million activation's per day , and is commanding 67% of the smartphone market and growing . Apple has a meagre 27% , mostly die-hard snobs.
Google android has destroyed Nokia , Now Apple is next on line

Android did it for free what ever iphone did for its own devices. Android is a copy cat. I dont see any new innovation from Android. If you find new which is not available or impossible in iphone or lumia then let me know.

Better get update your self rather than posting like donkeys. After Apple victory over SS, Android is in big trouble because many of its applications breach apple's patents.
