by Amit Devlekar on Oct 23, 2012 03:52 PM

Hello,
I have taken home loan of 26.70 lack from HDFC in 2008 on Dual rate policy. i.e. 1st two year it was 8.25% and now i am paying with 11.5% of intrest rate.(Now 12 Year remaning after prepayemnt of 3 lack last 2month back) Can i switch my loan to other bank? For that i have to pay more? When i asked to HDFC for Transfer and all amount prepayment, they said that they going to chagrge mr for 2% because i had opted Dual rate scheme. But recently GOVT. declared there will be no chagre if i want to pay all my outstanding amount? Pls suggest and guide.

Floating Interest Rate

What is the basis that Banks are allowed to discriminate between new floating loans & existing floating loans. As per MRTP Act, a supplier of products or services cannot discriminate between its customers for the exactly same product or service. If RBI is allowing the Banks to discriminate openly, what is the meaning of Floating Interest Rate?

Where to borrow loan, HDFC offer 10.5 floating or LIC offer 10.7 fix for first 3 years then floating which is currently 10.4
