And that will stop / reduce rape and assaults on women?

Pakistan has one of the most conservative (military sychophant actually) media. Then why are so many, many women, assaulted, have acid thrown on their faces, subject to all kinds of violence in the land of the pure, i.e. Pakistan?

Scandinavian countries have extreme liberal laws and society, why do the have such less crime in general and particularly less crimes against women?

Start living and thinking like human beings, evolve.

Why?

Instead why not include training material in the school curriculum which educates boys that women are not objects and condemns such behavior against women.

the media (TV, movies, magazines, etc) is a vital force outside the education system and often subtly influences people more then the education system.

so if the media portrays women as objects, then that is what is learnt.

Put Bollywood smut merchants who have made porn into Indian mainstream. What u expect in a society where a porn star in a movie is headline news??? where girls like Poonam Pandey makes headlines for wanting to go nude??? for a a society that encourages binge drinking and lowering the drinking age just because it is cool??? Indians need to clamp down on Bollywood for all the smut it is providing. for the anti Indian people who run this industry from orders from their handlers in Dawood in Karachi & Dubai.

Molestation
by suresh on Jul 20, 2012 03:54 PM  | Hide replies

While the episode is ugly and deserves to be condemned, there is also a need for women to introspect. What is the necessity for young women to frequent such night clubs and bars?? They are obviously going to invite attention and convey an impression that they are fast. Supposing this girl was having dinner with her friends at some decent restaurant, I doubt such an incident would have occurred. It is precisely because these women visit such clubs and take to drinks and dancing etc which is an open invitation to trouble. While, there is no denying the fact that it is a free country and women must have equal rights as men, there is a need for moderation in the way women conduct themselves because that is what society demands

The reports say the girl was 17, how was she allowed in a place where alcohol is served? Why is no tv channel reporting that??

I agree with him not because he is just a man but i really think he is partially true. The place does make a difference. I know you might say it can happen anywhere bla bla bla...but the fact remains there is a difference between a cheap bar, pub and a good restaurant where people from good families frequent.

One can ALSO introspect if the such night clubs and bars are needed for men in the first place?

Right on Suresh, as men, we do not keep our wallet full and go to such places because we know, we will be history. Similarly, ladies should exercise caution.

Come what may... retaliate

The softest part of a man is, between his legs. One hit on that spot, he will be numb for atleast 2-3 minutes. This time is more than enough for a victim to run to safety. To all of you out there, no pepper, no self defence class is required. Hit with your knee on this point.

What business does she have in a late night bar?
by Aam Aadmi on Jul 20, 2012 03:41 PM  | Hide replies

Though the act of the boys are to be condemned, why would this minor girl go to a bar at mid night. Is it not common knowledge that going into an intoxicated unruly idiotic crowd is inviting trouble.

For that matter, even Men should avoid such places to avoid troubles, leave alone Women.

Family members should take this episode as an opportunity to educate their girls and boys to stay away from late night or mid night parties like this.

What an idea? If men and women stop visiting bars, they will close down and all problems will be solved.

Yes it is a good idea ....court... you donot visit old city in Hyderabad during curfew days. You do not visit Bihar's lonely infested areas during night as a lady. Not only lady, as men. If you are interested in drinking, drink at home or drink at such a place where you are free from troubles.

Cities under curfew and infested areas are not comparable with night bars. Aam admi rightly said that family members can use this as an example. But believing that all youngsters will fall in line with this event is no less than an Utopia. That is why there are laws and also need to enforce the laws. If law enforcement in this country was even worth pass grade, such incidents will not happen. Even the miscreants know that action of the victim will be more scrutinised than the culprits in this lawless land.
