Every product goes through initial teething problems....happens with reputed brands as well. It was just one of those unfortunate instances and can happen with any product. Spare some decency and thought for those who have worked hard in producing this at its present cost - thats an achievement. If one piece fails, its is not right to make landmark statements such as "DONT BUY" - you are simply not anyone so reputed as some websites/ gurus. Period.

I dont think I would ignore this article. This tablet is powered by an Arm 11 processor which itself is almost one generation old. And that running a Froyo and wifi simply raises my doubts. Then there is battery. A good quality battery itself costs $20-$30. There is a very high possibility that the processor vendor is also not from a reputed company. At most it may be Mediatek or even worse - a Chinese maker. We have seen such brazen attempts in laptops fail miserably. Finally, there is no compromise for quality in electronics guys. Making a Nano car is one thing. Making a cheap tablet for a throw away price by assembling a few chips is another thing altogether. It is only possible using low quality electronic chips that power there devices.

Sir,a family dinner in a decent restaurant costs as much as Akash. Its indigenous, and primarily targeted towards students for learning purposes. We should give it some more time to knock off a few initial hiccups. Lets encourage it.

This product is meant for education, not to play HD videos. For the purpose it was intended, ARM11 should be enough. In fact, given that it is only a single processor and not a dual core, the Froyo codebase should have been ported ok. Of course, there would be issues, in this particular case, it could also be a one off issue, you never know.
akash is built with state of the art nextgen techology which switches off the tab once it is not used by its original user.give it back to your friend & hail the ipad killer Akash.
I did not even read it fully - so biased. You only deserved a simple letter - not a full article. You wanted a Rs. 30000 iPad for Rs. 2500 and are not even ready to wait before going to housetops and shout blasphemy.
Article .. A movie can be made on this ... but whats the proof ... you are the only one who has come up with complaint ... programs like gadget guru and magazines should review the product immidiately ...
u paid by other companies 2 talk bad about a low cost product. u seemed 2 biased in naming it the poor man's ipad. anyway ppl are still gonna buy it and you can keep playing d cry baby :)
