Dear Sunny, If you go through the first slide once again, where it is mentioned "It has been found that a vigorous exercise programme, which combines intensity, resistance training and stretching may be beneficial.". What the author probably meant was these "lousy" asanas were not enough, you definitely need an intense practice. Have a good day!

I had elevated levels of cholesterol about 20 years before. After few months of medication, I was advised to go for Yoga, meditation and pranayamam. Today, I am the only person in my group, who do not have any issues with BP, cholesterol and I climb 5 floors to my office with ease. Yoga did help me a lot. Of course, control on your food in very much necessary too.

actually, thigh is for people who do not have lot of flexibility otherwise, one is supposed to hold the ankle/toes while doing this asana & touch your knee with your head. I know because I also train at Sivananda..
