Sibal

Let Sibal introduce weightage concept for IAS and IPS exams and limit chances to one after graduation. New educationists, IAS Secretaries and the law graduate minister have already screwed up the IIT education.

Well, for your information, the Civil services preliminary exams have already been remodelled to test the aptitude.

Sibal - drop him from Cabinet !
by Ravi Kant on Feb 16, 2012 11:20 AM

MMS shud throw this Sibal out of Govt. He has messed up Telecom & is bad as A Raja was. He is now destroying the education system as well. HR ministry shud be headed by some one who has been a head of IIT or IIM or get some Indian who heads Harvard / MIT / Cornell etc.

Time for a change

I think its a good move. The age old entrance exams are too repeatative. Earlier you had to just join some classes in Kota, mug up the syllabus as we do in school and college and attend the JEE exams and then just forget about it. Hope this new entrance exams will be engineering based and not robotic.

RECENTLY IIM KOZHIKODE GIVING DIFFERENT WEIGHTAGE FOR STATE BOARD SSC/INTER THAN CBSE. ASPIRANT WHO SCORED MORE THAN 97% WERE NOT SHORTLISTED WHERE AS THOSE STUDIED IN CBSE AND SCORED 95% WERE ABLE TO GET SHORTLISTED FOR INTERVIEW. THE SAME WILL HAPPEN IN KAPILS IDEA AND THOSE STUDIED IN STATE BOARD WILL GET LESSER WEIGHTAGE THAN CBSE. IT IS MOST IMPORTANT THAT ALL STATE EDUCATION MINISTER SHOULD TAKE NECESSARY CARE FOR STATE BOARD STUDENT SINCE CBSE SCHOOL IS NOT AVAILABLE FOR RURAL STUDENTS. MR.SIBAL SHOULD ENSURE THAT IIM KOZHIKODE TYPE OF DISCRMINATION SHOULD NOT BE REPEATED

IITs
by vinay joshi on Feb 16, 2012 11:10 AM

Giving only one chance after Intermediate was a bad move, as it created more anxiety in students to mug up. Already the Intermediate Science (11th and 12th) syllabus is beyond an ordinary students capacity. Till 80s, most of this syllabus was taught till 3rd year of IITs in the 5yr course. One should see how much of Engineering is really used in Industry. Only 20%. First revise the CBSE and ICSE syllabus, based on first principles, rather than adding enless concepts and formulaes.

Conducting ONE or TWO entrance exams for all state and central engineering colleges is very good and a Welcome Move.
BUT giving waitage to intermediate or 2 marks is a big loophole and it misuse entrance system. If waitage is given to intermediate marks, lot of 2 colleges allow their students to copy and get good marks, which after some time all the collegs follow the same.

I strongly oppose giving waitage for 2 marks.

common exam for engineering admissions - a farce
by pisupati shekar on Feb 16, 2012 10:57 AM  | Hide replies

including IITs under the ISEET and giving weightage to plus 2 marks will bring down the quality of students entering the prestigious IITs and the students passing out will not have the right engineering aptitude as existing now. further colleges of plus 2 courses will try to ensure their students score high marks in connivance with the authorities of the respective state governments so that even average students get themselves admitted into the IITs and spoil the image of these world class institutes.

all the students of IITs must unite and see that the evil designs of Kapil Sibal do not get realised. Kapil Sibal is the worst HRD minister so far as he after spoiling almost all the prestigious institutes in all fields viz., medicine, engineering, management etc.

BEWARE ALL IITians

Fake forward caste merit
by Vivek Dev on Feb 16, 2012 10:56 AM  | Hide replies

These so called premier institutes should be immediately closed down and the land on which they stand should be used for building hospitals, parks, colonies for people. These institutes are refuge of fake forward caste merit and have no worthwhile achievement in any field of engg or technology. IITs dont produce engineers, they produce only investment bankers, marketing gurus, HR professionals and so on. You dont need to study engineering or technology for that. This colossal waste of taxpayer money must immediately stop. This may be a good step in dismantling the institutes.

How silly. Do you know the kind of research done at IITs? It may not be par with the westwern world but is indeed a laudable effort.

Why worry about investment managers et. al. - all it matters eventually is the growth contributed to the nation - either by direct tax money or foreign currency remittances.

And if you think fwd caste is able to crack the IIT so be it. Empower the rest of the nation to grow skills to crack the exam.

IITs are in India for so many years do you see any growth in India!! nothing so guyz pls do protest for good cause SINGLE ENTRANCE EXAM is best but dont give weightage to 2 marks

I think u need to research on what kind of research they are doing. They came out with tamper proof EVMs which court said are not tamper proof. Is this research? What nonsense.
