Love and violence
by Vinay Kumar on Feb 10, 2012 07:54 PM

We have no problem with violence in our society as shown in movies for example, but show people simply displaying love and everyone gets upset.

kissing scenes in Indian movies are one of the most embarrasing u can hv in a family. Bollywood is what is promoting this nonsense. the majorit of Indians do not lead a life anywhere close to shown in Bollywood or its denizens.

So you can't show kissing as an innocent display of love, but showing people get killed and beaten is ok to watch with a family? You're twisted.

Try to adapt, strive to change
by Proud Indian on Feb 07, 2012 09:37 PM  | Hide replies

I am surprised to see the name of Pune. This is incorrect, I live in Pune and public in Pune is very much tolerating towards Lovers.

In fact their should have been names of Azamgad, Agra, Srinagar etc.

If we can't bring about change, then we have to adapt with the narrow minded Cultures.

For example, in some places of India, it won't make difference even if a Man walks 100% naked, but the same city does not endure a jeans-wearing fully covered woman. Why?

They can't tolerate women wearing Jeans, because THEY WANT TO LIVE IN MALE DOMINATED SOCIETY, which offers 100s of BENEFITS to Males like drinking Wine, Making 4 marriages, giving Divorce simply by uttering 3 times, etc.

INDIAN AND PAKISTANI SOCIETIES ARE TRULY NOTORIOUS FOR MALE DOMINATED CULTURES.

You need to change mindset. While women must be allowed to wear whatever they want to wear, it must also remain a choice and not dictated as a proof of liberation. Most women in Eastern and Southern states still largely wear sarees, but does it mean that the women in these parts are subdued? What about men that also wear lungi or dhoti or mundu?

North Indian girls, particularly from Delhi, Gujrat and Punjab, are the trendsetters when it comes to western outfits. But has it rubbed off the image of these states as the worst perpetrators of female foeticide? There is much more gender bias even in the middle class north Indian families that allow their girls to sport trendy T-shirts, denims and jeans, than in outfit conservative south India.
