What about the safety of the lady driver - she will be alone most of the time on street waiting for the lady passenger , if something goes wrong with her then who will be responsible....
Government should declare 2013 as the year of women..Laws should be enforced strictly..i.e. NO arrests of women after 10.00 p.m. and if at all need to be arrested women constable should accompany..no tolerance towards violence against women...in short empower women force..
Rape Laws are bound to be misused: ------------------------------------- 1.Prostitutes will misuse the rape law to extract money from their clients by using Rape Law as black mailing tool. 2.women will harass their male co-workers with rape cases if they are not promoted/compensated well. 3.A breakup between a girl and her boy friend can provoke a girl to use Rape Law against her boy friend to trouble him.
To prevent Rapes: ----------------- 1.Prostitution should be legalized for those willingly entering this profession by issuing id cards. 2.Adolescents should be married, probably the age of marriage should be reduced to 16 years. Early marriage should be encouraged. 3.women should dress up decently in public and not venture out late nights. 4.Women should not board unknown private vehicles or move with their boy friends in public.
Past Misuses of women based laws in India: ------------------------------------------ Already women are misusing the laws made for women in India. The judges of supreme court itself have acknowledged this misuse.
Famous false rape cases: ------------------------ 1.Julian Assange was falsely accused of Rape, as many international governments conspired on him. 2.IMF chief was also accused falsely of rape charges and was removed from his position. 3.Our own bollywood personalities Anu Mallik and Madhur Bhandarker were falsely accused of Rape 4.Supreme court had also dismissed a false Rape Case on Rahul Gandhi, Son of Congress chief Sonia Gandhi.

I wish these Women's Rights Activists including Brinda Karat and Renuka Chowdhury and the female news anchors of the National News Channels showed a fraction of this outrage when innocent males are victims of false cases under Section 498A and often commit suicide.
Is that a solution? What prevents the taxi and its passengers from being hijacked from the streets? Weird! Proper policing and super fast response is the only answer.
The other day I read that the Govt is giving 15 lakhs and a govt job for the family of 23 year old rape victim.
Now the boyfriend who was made to see the whole thing and was beaten as well, is also a victim here. Infact he is in a much worse condition than the woman. Only reason being he is alive and she is dead.
His father says he is disturbed and doesn't talk to anyone and also gets high fever during nighttime.
Why the govt has not come forward to help his family also. Is it because he is a MAN??? Doesn't he have any feelings?? Will the women fight for his cause too or will any organisation for men come forward??

You are right, i know womans are not trated well by society but males are neither. Watch all start plus serials where all males are bad. Is it? Females do get favours. Like this poor girl also got. Even in offices girls gets less & easy work where as males are given tougher work and are made to stay late to complete it. Even when it comes to increments they gets advantages where as males are illtreated. I am not against the womens in any way. I know they are not trated well but we males are also not treated well either. How many guyes would have killed when tried to protect some female? At least a hundread in inia per year. How many candel light morchas have been arranged for that figher guys? Anybody including goverment had thought to move him even avg private hospital???

That friend of hers needs very sophisticated psychiatric help for years. He would definitely be going through PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder). There is a very high likelihood of him feeling tempted to commit suicide. This man will never be able to lead a normal life, unless sustained specialized psychiatric help is rendered to him. He can become a threat to his own life and possibly the life of other people as well.
I doubt if the Indian government will care about him at all. this guy will be soon forgotten, and will carry the mental, emotional and possibly physical scars with him.
These are all band aids , and not permanent measures . Basic requirement is to tone up the administration and not depend on whims of politicians and bureaucrats .This can be done by empowring citizens so that they can keep an eagle eye within their wards and residential areas . Full use must be made of latest available technology for surveillance and super quick response . Costly as they may be , they should be affordable now .
Allowing only ladies' cabs is risky as unscrupulous commuters may hire the vehicle, take them to undisclosed places and cause harm to them. If this system is to be implemented, I suggest for effective security, all cabs must be fitted with WebCams to be monitored by security at specific locations. Also, I suggest that all school busses in India must have Lady Attendant, and may be, if ladies can drive school buses, it must be driven by Lady drivers only and no men should be given the responsibility of driver/attendant. I have lost faith in men service providers.
