His novels are like...

Chetan Bhagat's novels are like Times of India newspapers. You can read them in the toilet, use the read paper to wipe of you know what, throw them, flush them and forget them...

whoever wrote the above piece for rediff, is an idiot of the highest order. PERIOD. And this statement has nothing to do with his analysis of Chetan Bhagat.

Chetan Bhagat may not write in a very literary language that most of his critics write...but fact is....IF he murders English...so do 90% of Indians. Language is about communication and i've read most of his books and blog entries....and he communicates well. He isn't claiming to be intellectual types. He writes simple stories with characters you can relate to with decent humor....though i think he needs to work on his stories' climax.

Most of B'wood movies are complete garbage...yet, our directors are so arrogant....no one talks about that!! Why the double standard??

i really don't see why everyone is to eager to pull him down, except for sour grapes.

No one has a problem with his novels, they are good. But what happens typically once you are well known- your behavior is definitely judged- All his comments and his body language reek of condescension.Look at his comments on Times Now and his columns on TOI- by the way he got pretty much rogered by a section of the internet populace over his alleged foot in the mouth comment about how working women are better. He also has been squarely ripped apart by Tehelka.

Tehelka itself is a sell out. Don't quote that garbage.

Guys this is meant to all wo are trying to find faults in the book. The book is meant for as the upcoming generation to not follow our generations and get emotional attachment while selecting our leader. I understand you may not agree with him in a few things but the books are purely his opinions and he is calling out to each Indian to have an opinion, think logical and not get affected by our stereotypes. I see everyday someone saying "Nothing can change in India" coz we dont care. We actually elect a batsman whose views on politics are never heard to run a country. Dont we have enough mute politicians....Pls open your eyes and in small ways bring about change...If each one plays their part we will have lesser issues on hand. Appreciate ppl who have their own opinions and get one for yourself

Crab mentality
by Savio Figueiredo on Aug 11, 2012 08:42 AM

Typical Indian crab mentality ( it is said that when crabs are kept in a basket, if one crab tries to escape other pull him down). If CB was in the US everyone would go gaga about him like we do about our prominent people of Indian origin. Maybe he is arrogant but then no one is perfect. Atleast he speaks his mind, others dont even have it
