Read his first 2 books:impressive.His campaign against Baba R is a marketing ploy to draw attention of younger people who only loves to get outstanding income and hire pretty escorts.But what I perceive as most important point about him that he bakes his own cake and apparently not a receiver of ISI funds to run his show.
I read one of his book, it is really interesting . During the week I could not do anything before completing his story. I read books like than after 15 years. It is really interesting to read his books, it is appears that you are watching Movie. I do not remember the name , it is the based on Varnasi Aarthi. Really interesting one, by mistake one of my friend who came from India left that book in my home to read that book CMA

If you go by the author of the rediff article, your command of English language should be better than that of Chetan Bhagat's!
sometimes when i see him coming on NDTV and timesnow debate, i feel like he is also planted or paid congress person. he always comes and insult anna and baba ramdev. sorry i am not impressed with him. he may be Ex-IITan but india needs patriots not traitors like him.....

Your problem is: you watch TV to see masala. Whichever channel serves lesser masala, you don't like them. Another problem with Young India (read you) is that they have learnt to use the computer and type in English.
I dunno, from the ppl who's reporting to the ones in this blog r all spitting venom against this guy. He writes gibberish, success by fluke, what all, what not.
But he got the young ones of India addicted to reading, which none of his ilk before has done it. Say give praise where it's due.
You can't be successful all the time, It cant be all 7art n no sh17.

he write in a addicticetive manner, the way is fantastic, but what about the subject? substance? its like with movies, they make one addictive as they provide you with dreams, there is no venom againt him, its about his writing,I am jot a writer so not rivalry or something, why cant he write something substance, like how many of us have dijested the end of One night at call centre

I have never read one of Chetan's book but I got to give him respect based solely on the fact that he passed out of IIT and IIM. I am a CAT aspirant myself and unless you study for it. all you can do is criticize and say stuff like all he has is bookish knowledge. But the mere fact that he made it to 2 of the most premier institutes is perhaps the biggest reason people accept him despite his "butchering of the english language". You get to a stage like he does, you can take the liberties you want. Otherwise you are a wannabe hater nobody writing articles full of contempt for the subject.

I agree on you that peole like him as he a person who passed out iit and iim, but read any on his atricle, u can smell his arrogance in it.
His novels are illusional stories, thats it, he himself dont know what Young india wants. none of his novel is without a initmate bedroom scene, an illisional which is praticaly not possible, he is arrogant and flying high on the attention he got from us, once he can provide substance to his books, i may respect hum, but respecting someone who write novels for entertainment, Sorry
