you all stupids, it is NIT (National Institute of Technology) and not NIIT. NIT's are india's premier technology colleges as good as IIT's.

I agree I had done a 6 month course in ist year and had worked years back for them. Most of them are idiots. The faculty is their studetns who pass with 40% and on an average employees leave after 3-months. You will not believe this expectation was set in the first training....VERY FRANKLY by the trainer. NIIT grads go nowhere except BIHAR

One person from India

Just one student from India got approx $10,000 per month salary. Why is it so great ? Sometimes, I feel ashamed of some of my fellow academicians due to such cheap claims. People in US must be chuckling after reading this.

This is not to underestimate the guys talent, but measuring it in terms of $ that too a few thousands a month - what a pathetic fall of academicians who end being "directors" and Vice-Chancellors

It has become a fad to boast of salary packages secured by candidates for EVERY INSTITUTION in the country. Good. I do not argue the toss.

More importantly, if in addition to the packages published, a brief account of the 'outstanding' contribution made by the student securing the highest package which benefited the INSTITUTE/INDUSTRY/EDUCATION SYSTEM/ECONOMICS OF THE NATION/SOCIAL SIGNIFICANCE even in terms of a nascent forerunner for others to follow or develop is mentioned - will do a LOT, LOT, LOT in terms of inspiration, motivation and zeal for others to do further/emulate. Sadly, such report is just out of sight totally.

It is diligence, intelligence, smart & sharp acumen, knowledge & communication skills that fetched him the job - one might argue. In today's competitive & knowledge world separation between the first and even the tenth or twentieth ranked student in a single discipline itself is a miniscule percentage. This can only be compensated by the ability to conceive, plan, and conduct/execute an hypothesis towards application that can be the yardstick to rank the candidates. This obviously is a project exercise (micro/mini/or major) that also spells the quality of the candidate as well as the institute which can take pride from it.

In the just concluded (today)Indian Management Conclave 2012, Delhi; the QUALITY factor has been emphasised in keynote addresses of a few speakers in no uncertain terms. The quality referred may be the one mentioned

Yes... According to Indian collie consulting standards. If you are full time in a tech company, people know that this is just less than a basic starter's salary in the USA.

Arun,
Seems you are misinformed. $125K is a very decent salary for starters in US and not even most US fresh grads don't get that amount of salary. $125 is decent for even with people with few yrs of experience.
