Very logical move. Their faith does not allow FACE to be seen. Even photographs are Taboo in principal. There is only ONE book of importance. When you have Face and Book togather, it could not be tolerated.

Normal?
by ashish on Sep 23, 2011 05:20 PM  | Hide replies

I am not sure if having 726 friends in facebook is that normal - that too for a student who is studying in a high pressure institute. I think there was some emotional imbalance somewhere.

Also.. no need to advertise as IITian or IIM student. I can almost confidently guess that she is an entry via quota system.

emkay, do not bring castism here. If you are advetising yourself to be super intelligent to crack IIM, you must tell the complete truth. What caste you belong to is not a problem - problem is advertising you as the cream layer student which you are not!! I had a mate in IIT KGP who despite being eligible for quota declined it and took admission in whatever his general category rank allowed him to. I have highest regard for him.

You are saying things which are not very relevant to the topic.

@ashish - good luck to you in your life. IIM is not the issue here. The issue here is a girl committed suicide because her boyfriend broke up with her on FB.
And your entire post is about accusing her of using quota and stories about how your friend declined to take admission into IIT K...
I mean, please...not even sure what to say...

I am sorry, but I have no respect for the ones that get admission based on quota. They do not deserve it in any angle.

The family they belong too is usually well off and they take advantage of the crappy system.

Tell you what, I don't believe in casteism except for the time when i have to go to the doctor. Thats when I make sure that the doctor is upper caste, because he/she would have earned their degree because of their intellect and not because of quota. Why would anyone risk their lives by going to a doctor that qualified on quota. Chances are that due to their limited ability , you will end up 6 feet under.

And I have ABSOLUTELY no pity for the girl. She was stup1d and i thank her for ending her innings of stup1dity on earth

I am speculating that she must be some quota student who got into IIM. Because anyone who earned their way into IIM, would know the value of their hardwork and have lot more maturity.

Her Immature action, has led me to speculate that sh might be a quota person who always got everything in life based on the quota and hence buckled at the first sign of adversity.

Either that or the quality of students in IIM has gone down the drain.

Just because she had 726 "friends" on FB, you form a derogratory opinion about a person who is not in this world to defend herself ?? By that very token, I can play an armchair phsychologist and judge your respective upbringing and your respective parents from that as easily as you have done here. GROW UP!!

this is the horrible mentality of people here. None is questioning the caste but if her relaives are advertising her as super intelligent because she got into IIM, the complete truth must be spoken. Say all good things abt her - no problem, but if you bring entry into IIM into picture-just say the medium as well. that is it.

criticising someone over killing themselves over an E affair is very much valid.

Had the person commited the horrendous act because he /she commited a horrible social crime, I would have kind of understood it.

Killing oneself over E-affair is meant to be ridiculed.

It is so sad that in India, we people wait in the wings to play the caste card at the drop of a hat.

Where is the rule that a dead person can not be criticised? Has history stopped criticising somene just because they are dead?

The girl's act must be criticised instead of showing her as a victim to educate the younger generation and in order to to desist them from doing such stupid act in future. The social netoworking site is not all that life offers - how do you say that if you start worshipping such acts?

Yeah this is so tarded. The Mayur's in here are ready to brand anyone and everyone based on caste.

And the best part is, they claim to be above casteism, yet mention about caste and sect at the drop of a hat.

Girl Alone is Responsible

In a country like India, which is biased to Womenkind...we men have to be alert when dealing with them. Also it is the girls fault to take the extreme step. When the girl's daddy knew all this why he kept quiet beats me. Also How COME A GIRL SUCH A COWARD BE ADMITTED TO IIM. According to me IIM admission is itself flawed. Nobody can be held responsible if one decides to end ones life. Well as a matter of fact we ourselves face criticism in all walks of life but that does not mean that we end our life. For me the laws should be changed and the person committing suicide should be deemed A NATIONAL COWARD.

Also we know love is blind...I cannot comment further on this as both the guy as well as the gal is at fault...

Gentleman: It may be nonsense for you, irrelevant for me and boring for someonelse. But such info is very relevant and a lesson for those who are serious into facebook, twitter and all. Socialising is fun.. fine. But it also has it advserse effects and in todays, student world, they should know how to behave and control themselves, even in adverstities to be succesful in their career. Handling adversities only in exams will not do.

If you dont like it, dont read it.

I have seen, countries like Singapore, Australia, Denmark, Sweden, Germany.. such news are given proper attention and also presented very well. Times London, have columns focusing on relationship and adverse effects on every friday.

They can afford to do so , since their population rate is down and they can afford to have stup1ds among their culture.

We however need the stup1ds to kill themselves in whatever means asap. Hence no need to discourage such actions , since such actions are positive in nature.
