Ultrabooks are the best for any of the above cases. I think the writer of this article has no idea what they are and suggesting people of yesterday technology.

Windows 7 is pretty stable...and tho I agree that Mac OS is lighter and faster ,..Thing is Apple products are way too overpriced for watever benefits u get..u can get a much better and powerfully configured windows system at the same price..and u hav the ease of use and flexibility ..and thing I hate most with Apple that u r stuck in the dumb Apple world forever..I rather love my freedom ..thank u very much.. :-)

ha ha..We are trying to have a discussion over some technological stuff in an open forum and everyone can have their own opinion and views related to their own requirements...
Your name calling without any argument or evidence to back it up shows your level of maturity, technical knowledge as well as your class..
As for your cattle class comment ..i would stay you yourself belong to the cattle class who has been domesticated by Apple and feeds on whatever grass Apple supplies them...in fact u r never allowed to leave the farm even if might like to graze a bit of something else..Poor You..
Whereas most others do have the choice to eat graze sleep go wherever they want to..Now go Figure who is the domesticated CATTLE and who has the freeDom..I guess u like licking shoes..Maybe you dint like India getting Indepedent as well cause that might rob you of your privilege of licking British feet..!!
Another Note..This name calling wont get us anywhere..If u can call people names I can call you 2 and you again can continue.. Maybe a better option is discussing technology in a Professional and Mature way...then we can talk :-)

rediff deploys few folks (paid employees) who provoke ill feelings. South vs north, hindu vs muslim, bolly vs rajini etc. dont get carried by such techniques
The writer is sharing his lack of knowledge on the operating system for MAC. MAC (Apple) uses LION as its operating system for the MAC and iOS is only used on iphone, ipad, ipod etc...
This is a poor guide for buying a laptop. It says: 'I think you have to ignore this (ie Weight) if you want a real good and big laptop'. I dont think its true with the new ultraportable laptops which give high performance (i5 and i7 options available) and are less than 1.5 kg. There is no mention of Solid State drives for improvement in boot time and read/write speeds. Isn't Graphics memory a must for gamers and High usage customers? The article gives an impression that the high usage users are just limited to gaming and watching movies and therefore they should look for large screen, which is not true at all...

I think you cant get a High Performance machine with good graphics graphics card without compromising on weight...at least a 15.6 inch laptop would be 2.5kg..a thinner chassis to make it light would make it rather prone to getting heated up and destroy your hardware faster..and if u are looking for a decent gaming performance on medium settings on most games u have to have at least an i5 and Nvidia GT 540M or equivalent graphics card..tho i would suggest spending a bit more and getting one with at least a ATI Radeon 6770 or a NVIDIA GT 555M graphics card

Do your own research...always..Educate yourself in matters of technology coz that is your future..and in today's world every company is out to get your money..be careful with what you choose and choose according to your requirements plus a lil bit extra if u want to keep the thing for long, say at least 2 years
