My friend got it for around Rs 12,000 from London, right after it's launch. And it's a GSM, u can fit any SIM and not a CDMA. Duty charges are TOOO f in' much in India !!
Let us accept that Apple makes great products. This does not mean the best. IP 4 may be a good product, but not the best. Samsung and LG mkes better phones at better price.
Like Americans let us not fall prey to marketing gimmicks of Apple.
true...but in india it will be available not before january next year.
Its better to buy 3GS now as it has better build quality and no antenna issues than i4 and is less expensive. And when i5 launches, i3GS can be sold at a good price.
For people not interested in apples:-) android phones are always there.
I bought my android galaxy S in November 2010. Loved the phone initially, but overtime the lag issue has made it literally unusable many times. My wife laughs at me when I have to dial someone in a hurry. These are the steps to dial 1. unlock screen 2. Click on dialer icon 3. Wait... 4. Wait... 5. Wait... 6. Click on keypad 7. Wait... 8. Wait... 9. Wait... 10. Dial...
By this time on any other phone, I would have finished 2 conversations.
Couple of days back I deleted the facebook and twitter widgets from my desktop, reduced total desktops from 8 to 4, and the phone seems to run must faster, not as fast as when new, but definetely usable.
The lag issue on the Samsung Galaxy S is well documented and a real problem for power users. Not sure how Iphone fares on these benchmarks. But considering the awesome features of this phone, the least Samsung could have done was used a better File System than RFS which seems to be the root of the problem. Does the Galaxy II still use RFS? Any ideas?

In US/UK, Apple is providing free bumper to avoid 'death grip', here you have to extra bucks to pay it. We have to pay extra money for Apple's failure??!?!?
Anyways this device is already became EPIC, since Samsung, HTC n Motorola dropped their Dual beasts in to the market!!

You do not need the bumper anymore, it was only for the initial iPhone 4 productions. Its not free anymore since Aug 2010 in US/Canada/UK anywhere. I have been using the Iphone 4 (upgraded from 3GS) for the last 8 months.. no problem with signal or anything else. Just amazing is the word!
For your information, I have a Galaxy S which I recently updated to Android Gingerbread, and my wife got Iphone 4. My testing reveals that Gingerbread is faster than IOS4. So, it is likely that the future android like Icecream etc will be way ahead.
its quite evident from this as with the launch of iPad 1 in india which came just days before iPad 2 launch worldwide that apple is using india as dumping ground for its inventory which means iPhone 5 is around the corner. Do not buy is my advise.

true... fact is purely economic, new model of appple is very costly in terms of INR, so they can't offer special India specific price which is possible in old models, thats why apple is always late in India...
