Why dont u comment about Babu's bringing in their sons various pubic sector undertakings..isnt that a family based reservation?Dont that cause rot?

what about people from non reservation communities securing management seat just on basis of hefty donations/capitation?

Isnt that a reservation based on depth of pocket? Howbt the "merit" in these management quota guys?
will a guy from reservation category get only the the minimum marks? Go through facts and figures and then comment.

its not standing first in competitive exams that will help country....it will only go to your head after this....the best thing before you're spent up by this ego and ego-centric system is to cultivate responsible under-officers and support staff. you just have to support the constable on the street and mould him because its he who is going to implement the laws enforced in delhi or various vidhan sabhass.

Talents are inborn and suppressing and disappointing FCs by researvations is antinational.
Governance by 'Impressing the Voters' leads to problems and coldwar. Researvations must be banned to save talented from being suppressed.

Choosing IPS as Civil Service Career.
by amiya das on May 16, 2011 10:24 AM

First of all I congratulate Dr.Varun Kumar for his success in CSE,2010 and managing to get a top 3rd position. Dr.Kumar has choosen IPS as his first choice being influenced by a Tamil movie. Similarly I remember the story of a young man(I don't remember his screen name)but Amir Khan acted as the ACP and his version "Do you know why I have choosen IPS instead of IFS/IAS,where I could have been placed comfortably" in Hindi film "Sarforosh".This definitely shows the courage & dedication of a young officer who aspires to serve the Nation with his hard work and commitment. Dr.Varun! we are proud of you. Please keep it up.

we celebrate toppers way too much. hero worship runs deep in our country....when hero falls rest will run helter skelter because they r clueless then...

good effort from this lad ...but move on.... inspiration and hero worship will take you only that far....

stop idolising IIT-JEE or Civils or AIIMS and such stuff ..... its not the cream which will move this nation ahead ...its the ordinary that holds the key.... law of averages ...never forget that...the officers may lead by example but its the ordinary jawan who wins the day for us....irrespective of the decisions made at the top.

I personally agree with your comments for the majority of bureaucrats in India. You are thinking like P J Thomas (Former CVC ).There are few exceptions like Sahayam ,Madurai District Collector who was brought in madurai District by Election Commission to stop bribing the voters. If he has not done his job, our democracy would have been sold .He obviously faced threats like his Car Driver being murdered by someone .

Finally,Bad people are always joining together for theri cause.Good people are not joining together for their cause. So we have to join together to higlight good bureacrats if there are any to motivate and protect them.

Kiran Bedi? So many sacrifice their personal interests for the country. Even most of CIVIL SERVANTS ARE SINCERE.
Some may be misusing. Every one must be sincere and dedicated and not the top one alone.

Its a fact that 80% of IAS/IPS are corrupt.
just go & see in Bihar/UP.
You will get actual picture.
People here are more obsessed for Govt jobs due to lack of development & more corrupt also.
One of my friend who became IAS later was preparing for exam with the mindset that he can earn lot of money(bribe) if become big govt officer.

Don't be a fool. Join IFS. My friend Panchapakesan, an IPS fellow had such ideals. He,along with his DG Arya was shot dead by the Mizoram Christian rebels in 1975 on the Pongal Day. He was attending a meeting and he came out of the room to see what was happening outside the room hearing a noise and he had to face l3 bullets on his handsome face.

Iyer, my friend, is a brand name. When an Iyer goes for an interview, the interviewer, instinctively restrains himself from asking foolish questions because he knows that an Iyer is a meritorious Gnani, intelligent, hardworking, erudite, scholar, a no-nonsense person. An Iyer does not have to mention his caste to seek his reservation charity. He despises charity. He holds his head high everywhere in India or abroad. It is an inborn confidence you see. There is, therefore, a distinct advantage in calling oneself an Iyer.
