Mr....America.. you must know that because of these foolishness that today India is surviving the economic turmoil... it not like your religion where you commit sins and blood of ... cleans your sins....

Here our culture teaches that you are responsible for your acts and do good and have good, in this life and coming lives.

It is this culture that provides for periodic festivities that leads to economic activity and people do purchases not out of necessity but for happiness and thus the economy keeps running.

So, if you are not happy or do not like this great culture, then you are free to leave this country and migrate to the country of your choice.

If some misguided and mischievous people give these festivals a different direction, it does not mean that festivals are bad, it is only that those people are bad.

I dont think you are entitled to say who will go to heaven and who will go to hell. Such comments will only tarnish the image of the community which God will certainly not like it. Please keep your liking and disliking to yourself and not impose on others. Your language may certainly keep you away from happiness.

@sam puzhakkal and americanpower you have seen nothing yet, Come to Europe if you want to see Nonsense festivals.
How about the festival of rolling cheese down the hill and then running to catch it, whose ever cheese wheel reaches down the hill and is caught first with out any crack in it wins the price.
Plenty of broken limbs here and lot of cheese wasted.
And the there is log cutting who ever cts a tree and log it ready for use is the winner.
Plenty of trees wasted and people using chainsaw injured.
Then there is yearly bull run.
Tomato throwing where thousands of tons of tomatoes are wasted.
And there are plenty more such festivals in Europe
At least Holi does not waste any ingredient that is edible.
Holi does not exert pain on any one as it happens in bull run where the genitals of the bull are cut off after the run and the bull is left to bleed and die.
Those are nonsense festivals not Holi.

"Those are nonsense festivals not Holi."
LOL..you should have written 'these are nonsense festivals just like Holi'.
During Holi north Indian women beat men with sticks and ropes. And when I say beat, it is not mild hitting in jest, it gets extremely serious leaving heavy welts and marks. Are these people crazy or what?

People consume marijuana/bhang etc and make public nuisance. The north indian crowd goes crazy throwing color, paint and chemical substances including metallic paints on one another...some even throw water filled balloons from buildings on unsuspecting folks on the streets - whether they want to participate in the festivities or not. Many have lost their eyes, in addition to other injuries. Girls and women are often teased and even molested under the cover of this festival.

In short this is a public spectacle of North Indian lawlessness.

You assi tussis of North India will use convoluted logic to say that your north Indian traditions and culture is way better than Europe.

North India already is famous for eve teasing and rape with Delhi being the 'rape capital' of planet earth. For such a culture a festival like Holi offers another outlet for its decadent depravity.

I laugh when I hear north indians compare themselves with the First world. This is what UNDP has to say:"More than 400 million ppl livin in 8 mainly Hindi speaking states of north India live in worse levels of poverty than the ppl of 25 po

I laugh when I hear north indians compare themselves with the First world. This is what UNDP has to say:"More than 400 million ppl livin in 8 mainly Hindi speaking states of north India live in worse levels of poverty than the ppl of 25 poorest nations of Africa".

Stop day dreaming about comparing North india with Europe. First get your corrupt, lawless, violence prone, and poverty stricken people up to the level of the poorest nations of AFrica. Then dream and boast about your great culture.

The UNDP report for 2010 makes very detailed comparison of the progress (or lack of progress) of these so called 'great North Indian' states with comparable populations of Africa.

One of them that struck me was the comparison between the republic of Congo and Madhya Pradesh. Congo and MP are similar in terms of population, but DRC (Congo) has been in the throes of wars with Zimbabwe and internal riots and strife. MP has not had riots or wars. Congo is one of the poorest (actually the poorest nation of Africa on several performance indices) nations in the world...and yet when MP's performance and socio economic statistics was compared with that of the hellhole called Congo, MP and Congo were almost identical! Overall Congo was very marginally lower than MP!! Can you believe this. I couldnt. That goest to show teh North Indian lazy attitude. They are only good at boasting huge empty boasts!

@Sunil Kumar,

You northy semil literates never cease to amaze me!

So you respond to me quoting facts and figures about the 'sub human' living statistics in North Indian states, by blankly stating that..."Sam... you must know that because of these foolishness that today India is surviving the economic turmoil".

Amazing! So in one stroke you are ignoring the statistcs and economic figures of North India which ranks worse than Sub Saharan AFrican nations. Instead you state, that 'Because of these foolishnes India is surviving economic turmoil'

Great Genius! Because of the total subhuman existense and development levels in North India, India is surviving economic turmoil! Ha Ha Ha. What logic! Only a northy can come up with that.

And what is this..."It is this culture that provides for periodic festivities that leads to economic activity and people do purchases not out of necessity but for happiness and thus the economy keeps running."

Are you serious when you say that Indias economy is running because of money spent on buying colors for Holi by North indians?! What are you smoking?

(Sunil Kumar, I must also state that it was extremely difficult to make sense of what you wrote. You guys need to brush up on English. No harm in having a better command over written and spoken English. Please guys, you need English in this day and age. Please come out of your cocoon of Hindi)

How happy I am that 80% of this nation are hindus and not others. So sad Mr. Paper Tacks.
