Now i should ask you the meaning of religion? According to you, all atheists are secular. I may agree to disagree but also put across my views. secular should essentially mean following your religion without hurting or disallowing others in follow their religion.
This is not in good taste my dear friends... Let us respect each other and stop portraying festivals of other religions as you like please... All humans are creature of Almighty and he says in Quran that means "do not abuse the so called gods of other religions, do you want them to dishonour Me?" Let us understand one thing the lve and let live. Neither all humans will accept one way of living, celebrating, enjoying nor they can have same opinion on acts of their own plus other. In no way I am responsible for somebody's act. Hence never genralise act of one for whole community. Hindus have a great religion, a greater understanding and they too believe in one god but they have dicovered smaller gods too. Let them decide what they want. Who am I to impose my thinking on them? tomorrow if hindus say to muslims not to slaughter animals for eating, what will happen??? let us come to reality that as it is we all have so many problem of life.. inflation, pollution, poverty, injustice, arms race, unipolar world without USSR, then why we are strangled in such heartburns and bickering. let our indulgence be for good taste, for better living and respect,addressing national and international real problems. Let us fight for them rather than wasting our time for unproductive aims. I hope i could make my point clear.. Happy Holi..

Felt very nice to see a very secular, broad minded practical comment on rediff. Most of the time only fanatical, unproductive comments are seen. well written dear friend! The problem started with monolithic relgns. It started with Jews. Then followed ibrhmic religns. They killed millions in the name of rlgn. Invaders killed millions what they called Kafrs. You were also victim of those guys.

Thank you very much Irfan.Why should we hate any of the human beings if "There is no compulsion in religion" and "To you be your religion and to me my religion" (Qur'an-2:256& 109:6).Let us respect each others faiths what ever may be it and go hand in hand to eliminate the poverty,illitiracy,unemployment,malnourishmenet&diseases among children,injustice corruption from our country to make our common vision 2020 come true.Wish all our brethern irrespective of their religion a very happy and delightful Holi.

@ Anti Semitic, bro, we cannot pick and choose the verses according to our convenience and generalize on that, like most of the people do on this forum, the whole Qur'an is there for guidance. What one needs to do is open ones eyes and more importantly heart and read them and understand them with open heart and open mind.
