Do ur job of governing !
by Bharvi Rajan on Mar 17, 2011 02:47 PM

The industry knows and values genuinely run MBA programs, the effect of it can be see in the pay packages offered to students. They dont need certficates from AICTE to prove their mettle. AICTE should do its job of governing technical education and stop coming with frivolous ideas. Why dont they regulate whether the profs are paid well or not or non teaching staff are getting benefits. It is ridiculous that they expect profs with PHD to be paid only Rs.18000-25000 to students who will earn atleast 6 lacs as starting pay!

Denying opportunity..
by Tom Dick on Mar 08, 2011 11:51 AM

While shutting part time MBA course is denying opportunity for an MBA aspirant, one need to remember that there are a million 'hole in the wall' universities and colleges offer such degree which is not even worth the paper it is written. My suggestion is that the programme should be available to all aspirants but must be under very strict observation by the authorities about the curriculam and faculty.

No part time MBA. So what, you want people to stop working in their lives and just study? I see lots of people trying to move out of the country if this rule persists. You need to have the option of studying while you are working.

Part-time MBA derecognition
by ramana rao on Mar 07, 2011 06:16 PM  | Hide replies

As a Prof who taught both regular and Part-time MBA courses, I do not agree with this decision. The capacity and appreciation to grasp salient aspects of a course being taught is much higher in working executives doing part-time MBA, while every point discussed is viewed with the same academic / qualification requirement by the green stdents doing regular MBA. I gained lot of situational insight teaching part-time MBA, while getting frustrated teaching MBA class in regular Universities.

No Matter let AICTE do his Job

New MBA shops open in this country are belongs to Political people. Any how they want to run their business. Those who are engaged in their existing Job need not worry about MBA. H.R dept.of Pvt. Companies can undertake Management Training to their young Employee after office hours & trained them as per the need of Company. Cost of such training could be treated as CTC by which employees are going to benifitted in future. At least 50% Promotions could be reserved for such trained employees. This will help such companies to minimise high mounting Labour Turnover now a days they are facing & also will help to curb on MBA shops open by Political leaders.

Shutting down part time MBA's
by Nagarajan Viswanathan on Mar 07, 2011 10:59 AM  | Hide replies

MK Gandhi once said "What cannot be wholly done need not be wholly abandoned".
It is true that different MBA courses offer different values? At times, most of the non MBA's are far better managers than MBAs.Any way it is the codified common sense that these colleges teach. It is nice to do an MBA,as a feel good factor? The remedy is to strictly control these part time MBAs,than scrap them?
For a working individual,evening/week end classes are a good alternative, than quit the job, forgo the valuable income and do a 1 or 2 yr full time MBA?I request AICTE to reconsider its decision?

hello, if one cannot do full time MBA does not mean that the person is not good enough to do MBA. it is many times because of other responsibilities towards family, funds people cannot do full time MBA, now this does not mean that the person if a person cannot do full time MBA is not good. Please think twice before writing such things about others.......

Mr P Sharma,You got the entire thing wrong. What i said, and what you are saying have no connection.the first thing in management is listen, understand, appreciate, ponder, discuss and express your opinion. Emotional Our bursts have no place in life/meaning in life.At my age,i have seen/done a lot that you have not experienced.MBA is not the end of life. Not doing it is not a failure. You can be a good manager with/without an MBA.Working MBA is slightly better than, fresh MBA.Most of these things are relative. If you feel MBA is good, you can do it?If you feel reading books experiencing is good you can do it?You have to be given full liberty to do so as per your desire?.Mr Krishnamurthy who was one of the best chairman of 3 PSUs was a dip in eng with no MBA?Amen!

Its really unfair
by navnath shelar on Mar 07, 2011 10:33 AM  | Hide replies

The decision of AICTE is really unfair. Before taking such kind of decision AICTE must think about those people who are doing part time MBA course who are working and will not able to do full time course. I am also doing part time MBA course in finance from Chetana's. It will enhance my knowledge as well as my educational qualifications. Many professors agreed that part timers can understand easily, learn easily more than full timers. Did AICTE have any alternate way? Please think over it. AICTE do not have any right to spoil future of working professional by taking such king of decision.
