Chia seeds ( Sabz beej ) used in faludas is also a good source of soluble fibre. this has not been mentioned. Most of articles nowadays seem to be ripped off from western media, without taking efforts of localizing them
Does Dietary Cholestrol.........foods that contain Cholestrol...........really raise blood cholestrol? Research papers indicate that egss do not actually raise cholestrol, despite the yolk being rich in cholestrol.........can someone throw some light on this........

Eating food that contain Cholestrol will most likely raise your blood cholesterol, what matters is what type of cholesterol and also, how much effective is your liver. If your liver is working well, your body cholesterol will be managed to an extent by your liver functions.

It is a big problem in India too these days because of a lot of bad food habits and lack of exercise. We see people in 30s and 40s having heart attacks these days, cholesterol is a silent killer

Yes there is a global health problem with peoples eating habits. However, what I meant was that westnern countries do have higher instances of heart diseases as compared to others

but flax seeds are high only one variety of omega-3. (not sure) and this alone is not good or may be even dangerous. thats wht the literature says.

I already spoke about Flaxseeds in one of my comments here. Flaxseed oil and nuts are rich in Omega. Fish is contaminated with mercury and highly toxic chemicals. Plants sources are the best !

Olive / and it oil are good, but the trick is how we use it. In India, we use it for deep frying, stir frying, and olive is not so good under heat.

its not total cholesterol (ldl hdl) that matters much. hdl is good. if ldl is way too high, then you have to take care seriously. ve to do lipid profile to find ldl and hdl.
