Khaja Pasha: How many in middle east celebrate valentine day?
Let me tell you the truth: I was in New Jersey last year and one of my friend was very mad to buy gift for his girl friend and spent at least 2 hours shopping around to get few gifts. As I was a visitor there I had no choice but to accompany him for this soujoun, untill he drops me back in my hotel. The next day was valentine day and everything went great for them. For the day was same.
Exactly after one week, prior my leaving USA we had a get together with couple of friends and I hear the girl who a valentine for my friend has switched to someone else. Casually, I asked my friend while he was leaving me at the airport. He just said, "Friend, everything happens. I enjoyed that day and I remember and that is what it matters for me and let her have a happy life". I know how painful it was for him to say these words, but did not ask him more questions. In India, my parents were married long time ago and completed their 60 years of togetherness. Never knew how to celebrate this day called valentine day and their love is never lost between them and for us. Do we need this hype and ape someone western culture?

Not respecting women is wrong. But dont you think women standing exposed and make a mess of her life before others and get into trouble is more serious? If you are really politically correct?
...on this day the firangis hanged Bhagat Singh, Rajguru & Sahdev - our freedom fighter martyrs and sadistically gave us Valentine Day to celebrate and many of us idiotically are obliging them ! What a shame ! How many of the younger generation know this !!!
