most of the indian companies suck
by brian crasto on Feb 17, 2011 02:00 PM  | Hide replies

I have worked in many companies. The salaries are very close to minimum wages. The only facilitie one enjoys are leaves. Then there is peer pressure. Most of the top management take the cake. During a downturn staff in the low category lose their job first.

you are right ,this happens because there was no control of black and white money transactions done by big shot company owner and no chek by income tax or govt,
and working peoples are suffering.

Whole issue is management
by Maihoon Don on Feb 09, 2011 12:31 PM

Management in Indian companies is pathetic.
Resulting in frustration at job even if you do your work well.
This is the main reason for dissatisfaction. No matter how well you do your job, management in Indian companies or MNC subsidiaries in India is pathetic and just wants to control you without knowing much about the work.
Put the right people in management and work life will improve considerably.

The time you enjoy wasting, is not wasted...

The time you enjoy wasting, is not wasted.

Learn to be happy, all you need per day is 2500 calories per day, a roof, a set of clothes..

rest of all you earn and slog is to get the other basic necessity - sex with spouse.

if you ask me, i think the last one, a good spouse is worth the stress and life long slogging....

Do Something You Love and You will not be Stressed
by Indigo Sepoy on Feb 09, 2011 02:29 AM  | Hide replies

First thing is to step away from the rat race and shrug off peer pressure. Clear all your debts (loans/mortgages) and try to live a simple life without any financial obligations. Travel more in public transport and try to find out what is that you are really passionate about and follow it.
If you do something you love, its going to be enjoyable. I hope we Indians do not get caught up like Americans in a mad rat race world.
Live Simple, Be Happy, Have more Time, Less Debt, Smile More, Laugh More and Enjoy your life.

Americans are a lot better than Indians when it comes to work life balance.
They work for their designated 8 hrs a day, and then go home. Seldon do they work on Weekends.

We Indians however sit in office just to tell "the boss" how dedicated we are.

not practical
by Siddhartha Sanghi on Feb 09, 2011 12:27 AM  | Hide replies

the article is certainly a good read but it really doesn't provide practical solutions to the burnout... for example, you can't just take off from work for vacation without having ample vacation/sick days...
